    Justin Martyr was a heretic

My point Zeke, is that what you "Think" the Bible teaches may not be correct. If you're judging whether Jusitn is a Heretic or not based on what you "Think" the Bible teaches then you need to be 100% correct about what the Scriptures teach in order to judge whether or not he is a heretic...

    The Thousand years

Yes, I agree. In another post you indicated that none of the passages posted weren't evidence of a literal 1000 year rain. In post 17 you said, "Read 'em. Digested 'em. None of them support a literal, 1000 year reign of Ἰησοῦς Χριστός. (or the "Messiah Yeshua" as you like to effect)" The...

    Your thoughts on TEN verses

Hi Axehead, I agree! The difference is sometimes overlooked. The issue of OSAS is not about what God does, but rather what man does. I don't think anyone doubts God's ability to save. The question is, will man be faithful to God? No, I' showing what Paul was alluding to. Paul is the one who...

    Your thoughts on TEN verses

Everything has to be understood in context. I believe it is taking the passages from their context that allows this doctrine to continue. For instance, you alluded to the passage that says God will never leaves you. KJV Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content...

    Your thoughts on TEN verses

A person cannot fall from a place they have never been. One cannot fall from a building in which they have never been. It order to fall away from belief one must first believe. I usually don't discuss this subject any more because arguments always go into the illogical realm. Words don't mean...

    Your thoughts on TEN verses

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:38-39 NKJ)...

But the passage is speaking the love of God. It doesn't say one cannot turn away. In order to prove OSAS one needs to prove that a believer cannot ever become an unbeliever. People post verses saying things about what God will do. However, the promises in Scripture are to those who believe. So...

    Your thoughts on TEN verses

If you look at that passage closely it says nothing can separate us from the "love" of God, it doesn't say anything about a person choosing to no longer follow Christ. I was referring to the Scriptures as a whole. The Scriptures as a whole show us that one must remain in Christ to be saved.

Firstly they would have to be looked at in context. However, from what I see at a glance is that they all appear to apply to believers. No of them, however, say one can't stop believing. I use to believe OSAS for quite a few years. However, as I began to study the Scriptures more I came to...

Jim, What do you make of these passages? 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. 16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. 17 According to all these...

    Justin Martyr was a heretic

Zeke25, You didn't answer my question though. Whose interpretation do you consider proof? If you're going to claim that Justin is a heretic and only the Scriptures can be used as proof then we need to know whose interpretation you consider proof. Just because someone is a heretic it doesn't...

12 reasons why hell is not eternal conscious torment

That may be true to some extent, however, that doesn’t mean one can just assume that because someone isn’t a scholar any contradiction they see is invalid. Yes, it “Might” be invalid, however, I haven’t seen where you’ve looked at that. It seems to me that you’ve just dismissed anyone who...

    The Thousand years

There was a good bit taught on the thousand years in the early church. They said that the days of creation were both literal and prophetic. The creation was 6 literal days and God rested on the seventh and they also said that they were prophetic of 6000 years that man would be under the curse...
