I am not understanding how you have determined that Paul was not a Christian in Roman's 7....and are you implying that 1 John nullifies and voids Roman's 7?
I will humbly share a testimony and ask your thoughts on it.
In the past I got caught up in going to the casino with my aunt. It wasn't a problem in my life until years later and it became a lifestyle and I began to suffer financially...
In prayer one night He told me to quit going to casinos. I disobeyed, and continued to go...my situation became critical financially and I was unable to pay my debts on a timely basis. So I cried out to God to help me, repented of my disobedience, and turned away from this.
So I ask, was I no longer a Christian because I sinned against God?

When you turned away and repented, did you still have a desire to go to the casinos?

You have quoted a lot of verses and my response is "So what?" Quoting verses without exegesis is pointless and teaches nothing. But then when you don't have the gift of teaching one sort of expects people to parade their ideas rather vaguely.

I'm just listing those verses people just plain ignore. This post is not a teaching post as the title says. That sentence of contempt about my not being a teacher is beneath you.

Yes, I had to resist the temptation and it finally left.
So what is your answer to my question?

This is from Paul's second letter to the Corinthians.

10 For the sadness that is used by God brings a change of heart that leads to salvation—and there is no regret in that!

So were the Corinthians saved in his first letter when he said:

4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5 that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Or is being saved fluid?

Being saved is not fluid, and yes, there were Christians in Corinth in his first letter.

Except that Paul wrote in the present tense. He wrote about other things in the past tense, and some in future tenses. If you don't go by the tenses he wrote with, then how can you have any idea what he was saying? Will be saying? Might say? Each of these variations are from tense. This was me. This is me. This will be me. If I say, this is me, and you say, that means, it was me, then what would I have to write to say that it "IS" me?

What would Paul have had to write to communicate, should he have wanted to, that there was both sin and righteousness present with him at the same time? And that in his flesh lived sin, while in his spirt he delighted in righteousness?

If that were what he wanted to say, how would he say it, if not the way that he did? And having said it that way, why seek to re-interpret clear use of verb tense?

Much love!

So what? Present tense and personal is just a teaching tool. If you have really examined the context, which you haven't, look at verse 9 in Romans 7. It is present tense and personal, but would make Paul over 1300 years old, and was even there before Moses received the law! And everything Paul talked about in Romans 7:14-23, he is free from in Romans 8:2.

Very logical. Brilliant! Not!

You can't ignore verses if they are not explained properly. Otherwise, anyone can post verses that have no relevance whatsoever to the topic.

As you are not the OP, it is not for you to decided what sort of post this is. FYI, every post is a teaching post if you learn something from it.

My sentence actually is in front of me on my computer.

Hey, Mr. Observant!

I see your spirit hasn't improved.

I am the OP, so I do know what this post is about. It is about people believing the opposite of what is plainly written in these scriptures. I shouldn't have to explain what is self-explanatory. And many people have never even heard of these verses because they don't read the Bible, and only depend on their false teachers to teach them their pet verses.

@CharismaticLady *This site is run by a bunch of prudes, good riddance*

All this is a cool story, but I can say that any schmuck claiming his computer is impervious to infection or any type of compromise because he believes its locked down air tight clearly has his head too far up his behind. I can claim my computer cannot be screwed with in some way....until it does. Likewise, I can claim that I cannot sin because I am "in Christ"......until I do. The war against sin didn't end when Jesus died and rose again, or when someone comes to repentance. It only ends when heaven and earth passes away.

The Bible passage that many Christians don't believe is Genesis 1. They treat it as a myth - that the actual events never really happened in the way the literal text says it happened. The problem is that is that Genesis 1 is absolutely essential to the gospel of Christ. If Genesis 1-3 are just myth, then there is no Christian marriage, Fall, sin, Ten Commandments, historical Jesus, virgin birth, death on the cross, resurrection, Second coming, final judgment, heaven or hell.

Furthermore, no moral responsibility, therefore anything goes, which means abortion, homosexuality, child rape and porn, adultery, fornication, theft, lying, murder are okay.

In summary, no literal Genesis 1-3, then no gospel, and no hope for anyone. So eat drink and be merry, do as we like, and we die and are no more. Even if people say they are Christian and that Jesus died on the cross, it means no more than just being better human beings. But what is the use of achieving anything if it all ends in death and there is nothing else?

Science knows that the universe is running down like a battery that is losing its charge. So, eventually, the who universe and our world will be just a cold, lifeless bunch of dead rocks and so all human achievement will be as nothing because there will be no one left to appreciate it.

That is all there is if Genesis 1-3 is merely a myth.

Just testing. As I have said before your responses make it clear you are not a teacher as you claim to be.

And if people have not read certain scriptures it is not self-explanatory. How can it be in they have not read the verses?

And FYI, a teacher who is a teacher, not a pseudo teacher ALWAYS explains what he is teaching about because in doing so he lays the groundwork for further study on the subject.

And I speak as one who is a university-trained teacher and one who has been anointed by the risen Christ to teach in the body of Christ. I do admit however that I have not been anointed by Jack Hayford like you say you have and which suggests that Jack's blessing superseded that of the risen Christ and university training.

Just testing? You mean you knew I was the OP? That lie just put you on ignore. I can't stand liars. So you have nothing to read of any worth to me. Good bye.

Jesus Told His Disciples (not those who left Him): "MY WORDS ARE SPIRIT, and THEY ARE LIFE".
"What is invisible" , not flesh, not physical blood.
Very very very crucial to , key to, understanding His Word.

"NO PEACE for the WICKED."
Wow....anyone who believes in the Real Presence is WICKED!!!!

Soooo why is your interpretation of that passage NOT wicked? How do you know YOU are right??? Oh wait....you don’t interpret scripture....NM!!
