By denying that doctrine,
@Michiah-Imla places himself outside of the sphere of salvation in Christ.
@justbyfaith
The
sphere that I have placed myself outside of is the sphere you have allowed men to put you in; the sphere of the wisdom of men.
My faith does not stand in the wisdom of men; as the scripture says:
1 Corinthians 2:5 KJV
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
A simple reading of the full scripture reveals that Jesus was referring to himself as being
the light of the world as prophesied in Old Testament:
John 8:12 KJV
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:24 KJV
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that
I am he [the light of the world], ye shall die in your sins.
Here’s the prophecy:
Isaiah 9:2 KJV
The people that walked in darkness
have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
And Matthew cites the passage here:
Matthew 4:16 KJV
The people which sat in darkness
saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death
light is sprung up.
And Paul also wrote of this light:
2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV
For God, who commanded
the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give
the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:8 KJV
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now
are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light
Now if your doctrine is correct and sound, please expound it to me with multiple scriptures (as I have done).
As the scripture says:
Isaiah 28:10 KJV
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
And spare me the empty words of “theologians” and the books that they write.
Thanks!
