I know I might cop a bit of backlash here for posting this, you may be a Trump fan or you may not be, but just making sure you know, it's definitely not recommended for anyone to follow Trump's suggestion on injecting disinfectant.

I get a giggle out of Trump's approach to maintaining his presence in the news. This guy is not stupid. His mantra in maintaining his profile, is there is no such thing as bad news. For him, the only bad news is no news! There is not a day goes by, that he is not featured somewhere in the news, and it seems to be working for him.

In Canada, we recently had a candidate for prime minister, Andrew Scheer, who instead of learning from the master, he criticized Trump's style. He was so quiet and polite, that come election time, less than half the population had even heard of him. While he managed to squeak in as leader of the opposition, the rest of the party realized he was no leader! So their first act in the new government was to have him replaced with a real leader!
Trump is smart!! He is a true leader! He knows how to play the game.

Mr Scheer has a very understated style, indeed.

You should always check the latest news before you defend something Trump said. In this case, he's now saying "I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you, just to see what would happen."

As another person observed, it's funny to see how many times Trump supporters rush to defend something he said only to have him later throw them under the bus and say he was only kidding.

I guess then if anyone's being trolled by Trump, it's people like you.

This is more just about warning people not to do it, don't use disinfectant in the way Trump suggested it or questioned it, Australia's top doctor even said not to do it, after Trump's comments, I think every nation had a duty of care after those comments to tell people not to do it. It's just a duty of care if you know someone suggested something dangerous in front of your kids, you would tell them don't do it, because there are some people that don't know better or would follow Trump's comments, like @Justadude said about the 100+ people in Maryland ringing up the emergency hotline about disinfectant.

At least Trump backed down and said it was a very sarcastic question, whether he was telling the truth or not. It was better than saying nothing after the original suggestion or question, or suggestion in a form of a question.

Yeah, I know. I've heard and read the same thing. Just seems to me a contradiction. Like many it seems, I don't know any longer what to believe. And maybe even that is intentional.
