but that is only if the homosexual turns away from the practice of homosexuality. One must stop sinning intentionally if they are to benefit from Christs blood.
Pegg, I don't believe that.... Never have even if I disagree with what Robbie's arguements, tactics and tantrums are. What would you day if we said, "but that is only if the pork chop eater turns away from the practice of eating pork chops. One must stop sinning intentionally if they are to benefit from Christ's blood"?
Clearly the question at hand is the human measure of sin. You can take "pork chop eater" and substitute it with any other sin in the Law of Moses. We can also include some things like wearing makeup, which aren't in the Law. Why? It's really a form of lying, isn't it? Going by the hard copy of the Law, if you find cattle or a beast of burden that has strayed, you are supposed to return it, because it is property. Right? What about loose change along the sidewalk? We pick it up, but did we earn it? No. We are commanded to return lost livestock, but the spirit of the law is that we return property. So, find a penny pick it up, all day long..... Try to figure out who it belongs to.
Rediculous, but only to make a point. How are any of us going to stop sinning intentionally? We can't. Homosexuals get it really bad because it's a clear lust of the flesh in a pleasurable way (TO THEM..... I DON'T SWING THAT WAY!). It's something most Christians can easily bash and get away with because most are either of like mind, or pretend to be.
But how are you going to stop intentionally sinning? I'm not asking if you have, I'm asking how are you going to stop it? The question is rhetorical; you aren't. Furthermore, the Law was given for two reasons: 1. that we could be charged with an offense, and 2. That grace through faith could take over.
You've had some great posts, Pegg... But from now on, when you speak of intentional sins like homosexuality, I'm going to imagine you speaking of eating catfish, shrimp, pork, planting tomatoes next to cucumbers, etc. It won't make much sense, but it'll serve a point.
Homosexuals defeat sin in the same way as the rest of us do.... Grace through faith. As rediculous, silly and I'll even say ignorant as Robbie may be, he's got that right, even if he doesn't understand it, which I'm pretty sure he doesn't.
My point is that we all sin, and do it intentionally.
