I remember this argument from some theology book (Reformed, obviously) for the doctrines of Original Sin and Total Depravity. It goes something like this:

"Babies are NOT innocent. They are completely self-centered. It's all about THEIR wants and needs. They want what they want when they want it, and they'll scream and cry until they get it. They have no respect for others' needs (like their parents' need to sleep). They are not yet capable of loving sacrificially; it's all transactional. They have no concept of obedience. Babies are the very epitome of 'Total Depravity'. No wonder they grow up to be sinners."
