I'm surprised that you don't know that it was the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues that they came to give them by the laying on of hands.

You probably also don't know that is separate from receiving the Holy Spirit at salvation.
Does it say this?...

16 (For as yet WATER BAPTISM was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized BY THE HOLY GHOST in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Or this...

16 (For as yet he(HOLY GHOST) was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized(BY WATER) in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

If you take the time to read Acts 10:44-48 you will see that the Holy Spirit fell on them while Peter was still preaching.

The scripture gives accounts of the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues being given by the laying on of hands, and at the same time of believing.

Then Peter said, "can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized (in water) which have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?"

You see, they believed and were baptized with the Holy Spirit, and received the indwelling Holy Spirit at the same time, and them were water baptized in the name of the Lord.

i quoted Acts 8, not 10.

You reneged on your promise.....

You still refuse to believe.

I knew you would all along.

Acts 2:38 is not an example of the above, it's words that can be misconstrued. We need an actual example from your beloved Book of Acts. Can you provide us with any of this so we can believe?

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Now, look at Acts 2:38 again and compare it to Acts 8:16....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Do you see any similarities?

You are one confused puppy on what's going on in Acts!

...show us an example in scripture where they had to be water baptized before they received the Holy Spirit. If I remember correctly you folks say the Spirit is received in the water at baptism, you can show us an example of that in scripture and we will believe you.

Yep, you reneged.

You guys are delusional! You have no idea what you're talking about.

If you're going to preach from Acts you had better learn the difference between the baptism of the Holy Spirit and receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the baptism in the name of the Lord (water baptism).

Man, you guys are unlearned as they come but yet preaching something you know nothing of!

Backmasking the Bible is a specialty of Acts skippers.

In the 80's, we used to play rock records backwards to find hidden words and meanings.

Now, Christians read the Bible backwards to find hidden meanings.

The world has gone bonkers.

False prophets preaching something they have no knowledge of themselves.

If you want to talk to me about anything in Acts, go find out how the 1st century believers were baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and why Paul said that after you believe you receive the indwelling Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13). And learn the difference in the two!

You are good with the latter part of Acts 2, but skip the middle of it.

This is Acts skipping, defined....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Per the Acts skipper...

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and DELETE ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

You've got to get past Acts 2:38 to learn what is happening. You're stuck on words and have no examples of what you preach, in a book filled with action and examples.

That should make you pause, and if you are like the normal Christian you'll wonder why are there no examples of this.

Then you would go past Acts 2:38 and see what all the action and examples in Acts are showing us.

It's all about what is being done, not what someone is saying.

Wait, I got past Acts 2:38 on Oct 7, 1979.

I obeyed it that Sunday night.

You are stopped by it.

I never said the scripture says that a disciple is a disciplined follower. I said that a disciple is a disciplined follower... Were the disciples of Jesus disciplined followers? Yes or No?

You asked the question: Catholics baptize babies, are babies disciples?

The answer to that question is NO, babies are not disciples since they can not be “disciplined followers”. But their parents, who are responsible for bringing them into the covenant with God, are disciplined followers. The baby is still a Christian even though they are not a disciple.

Hello! the scripture was not originally written in Latin... The Greek says and the Hebrew says
