You should put the verse in context, EG.

The complete scripture you quoted from says this in connection to salvation. Those who deny the need of salvation claiming to have no sin to need atonement for are the ones deceived.

Those who confess their sins can rightly claim to have no sin after the cleansing that Christ’s blood provides.

1 John 1:8-10 KJV
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
No, that’s twisting johns word

lol a believer sins willfully everyday.

Really?

Romans 6:12 KJV
[12] Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

A professing Christian who sins every day is essentially disobeying God everyday. This is not the truth according to the scriptures.

Again, there is a difference between willful sin and sin without knowledge, and the Scriptures confirm it. The Saints of God do not willfully sin, but sinners do.

John 5
[14] Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

so you excuse your sin?

that’s good to know

The may be believers, but they're not Saints; and it's the Saints who go marching in, not sinners -- whether believers or not.

1 John 3
[7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
So I take it king david, and abraham, and yes even peter were not saints? Since all commited willful sin (peter having to be called out by Paul)

John plainly states later in 1 John (3:9) that a believer does not commit sin. And if that believer’s previous sins have been taken away by Christ, then that believer has no sin as a result.
He states they can not habitually continue in sin.

if a believe could never sin again, then we would be perfect the moment we were saved, and there would be no growing pains,

what you saying makes no sense

This is your position? We are all sinners, whether born again or not? BTW, King David went through great agony over his willful sin, and God forgave him because of His great mercy. Did King David continue in sin? No, he repented.

Don't you know that surrendering to sin equals death?

James 1
[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Not Those Christ died for, they have been delivered from the penalty of sin ! Heb 9:12

If a believer continues to sin then this scripture would be made void because we would not be able to discern between the children of God and the children of the devil.

1 John 3:9-10 KJV
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. [10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

lol this passage has to do with the physical nation of israel, nothing to do with Salvation through Christ, you way out of context !

It is the inspired word of God; and as such it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

Enduring to the end requires obedience to be saved. What's more, it is written to work out your Salvation with fear and trembling. It's a process.

Philippians 2
[12] Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The "working out" here, in the Greek, has to do with like working out of a math problem; so that Philippians 2:12 is reiterated quite nicely in 2 Peter 1:10.

lol a believer sins willfully everyday.

1Jo 3:8, He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Doesn't sound like a real believer to me...
