The verse before the one I quoted. 1 John 3:23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

They are based on the original - to love God with all your spirit, soul and body, and to love each other.

The Author and Finisher of our faith writes His commandments on our hearts called our conscience.

BTW, Paul's "messengers from Satan" were not physical injuries as most think. They were people - enemies. "Thorn in flesh" is a Hebrew idiom like our own pain in the neck.

I agree! Paul’s character was definitely being assaulted at Corinth, the letter revealed this. I believe there are still many Judaizers among us.

Calvin teaches it as "pre-destined".

Notice...., God sees who is going to believe before they are born, and that is "Fore knowledge"... = that is God knew you would believe... before you were born.
Calvin teaches this as.>"God chose you, or caused you"...

So, in the Foreknowledge of God, we understand that all the born again are called

Calvin never did... or what i believe is that he did understand it, but he wanted to Harm God's Plan..
And that is why he redefined "foreknowledge" as "God causing" and then created the hellish Theology that says that the Cross is only available if God chose you before you were born, and if He didnt, then you are born to go to HELL and then the Lake of Fire.

So, that is "limited atonement".... = The Cross is not for the world, its only for the "elected by pre-destination".

So, Calvinism denies John 3:16, and many other verses that state that God's Gift of Salvation, is to EVERYONE = THE World.

Calvin, like all Super-Heretics, have a big issue with the Cross of Christ as GOD provided it.

Reflect on this verse in John 15:1-4 "“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

John is saying the same as Matthew did in Matthew 7:19-23 to people who were born again and operated in His gifts. " 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’"

Like most words in the Bible they have many meanings and we need to know how to understand them in the context. In English we have different meanings for the word "bark" and so now I will be you.

So let's say there was a bark nearby and I wrote it down because the sound scared me. And on the next day I saw I could sit on a bark because there was a tree nearby. Now are you going to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about because I think the tree bark can bark like a dog?
