Your question is the whole point of this lesson...
We are NOT made perfect when we die! That is the ASSUPTION of those that believe they go to be with the Lord upon their death!
No one has, nor will anyone become, perfect BEFORE the second coming of Christ!
Paul tells us that NONE of the righteous that died have received their perfect bodies yet!
He even goes on to say that they will NOT get theirs before he gets his....
Heb.11
[39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
[40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
So if none have received perfection how can they be in the presense of God? It is impossible!!
.
We are made perfect by our faith in Jesus Christ! Where do you get that we are made perfect by dying? You falsely accuse people of saying that. And Hebrews 11:39-40---is about the Old Testament saints and righteous people who did not get to know Jesus and the gospel until he was revealed, when he was revealed! Jesus and salvation was a mystery, no one before Jesus knew the mystery. We have in the New Testament the mystery revealed. That's why Abraham waited to see Jesus' day, Abraham saw it and was glad. That's why Jesus preached to those who were dead. That's why Hebrews 12:23 says we come to heaven where God is....and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect.
We are made perfect by Jesus' sacrifice, and our belief in Jesus. Yes, even the spirits of the righteous were made perfect when they learned of Jesus Christ!

1 Peter 1:10-12 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, [sup]
11[/sup] trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. [sup]
12[/sup] It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.
2 Peter 1:19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
Romans 16:25-26 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him--
1 Corinthians 4:1 So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.
Hebrews 7:11 [
Jesus Like Melchizedek ] If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Peter 4:5-6 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.
1 Peter 3:18-19 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,
Ephesians 4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)
James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Galatians 3:19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come.
