In (Heb. 9:11-12), we see that Jesus Christ, as high priest, entered the true tabernacle in Heaven with His own blood. Just like Aaron, the high priest, did once a year. And in (Heb. 6:19-20) we see that this is into the very Holy of Holies. "Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec."

Aaron was high priest of the Mosaic Law. Always standing between the people and God and working under the Law to further the people in their perfection, or maturity before God. (Heb. 7:11) It was an ongoing ministry but one that could not accomplish this maturity. (Heb. 7:19) "For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God."

Aaron's ministry, under law, appeased God concerning the sins of the people. But it did not allow the people to draw near to God. Thus once a year Aaron went alone into the Holy of Holies. None could follow him into the presence of God. The Law, and the priesthood of the law, Aaronic priesthood, could not bring the individual into the presence of God. It could not bring the people into maturity. It was 'elementary' so to speak.

Had Jesus Christ been a high priest of the Law, neither could He bring the people into the presence of God. Neither could He bring them into perfection, or maturity, or completion. Thus Jesus was made after a different order of priests. That of Melchisedec. (Heb. 7:21), as quoted from (Ps. 110:4) So Jesus as a priest after the order of Melchisedec, entered into the Holy of Holies, and as (Heb. 6:20) says, He entered as our forunner. Which means we can follow.

We as believers are priests also. (1Peter 2:5,9) We are priests after the priesthood of Jesus Christ. We are priests, not of the Law, but after the order Melchisedec. Not after a carnal commandment but after the power of an endless life. (Heb. 7:16) Therefore, because we are of a different order of priests, then we are under different power source. Not the Law, but the Spirit, the power of an endless life.

And this give us entrance, now, into the very presence of God. (Heb. 10:19-22) "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus....Let us draw nigh...." Don't try and enter here by the Law. Come only as a priest after the order of Melchisedec.

though this is a point of interest, and a need to know, appeasement isn't something that a priest to the Most High is called for. also there were prophets even in Moses' day and appeasement wasn't a job descript either. the Lord in His relationship with priest prophet kings Abraham required of them, for the sake of the rest. the requirement that Jesus fulfilled was for the sake of others, not to appease the Almighty.

God gave His Word (His commandment) in the garden and He must keep it. so for the sake of those who will be and would be faithful, did He require particular things and actions from those who severed that purpose of restoring the faithful into God's Presence in His Peace. in pointing to Christ that would come and pointing to Christ who has come.

EXCELLENT post @Stranger ....
I find it interesting that Moses could not enter the Land of Promise because he was a representative type of the law. ( commandments and tabernacle laws) YET he was also a type of Christ.
Aaron could not enter the 'Holiest of all' and Presence.. without blood...
Moses could speak face to face ( by grace) without blood.
Ex 33:11 "And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle."
We of the new covenant have the face to face opportunity..
I remember hearing Watchman Nee say about Joshua..." departing not out of the tabernacle"
He said- That too is our calling...in whatever we are doing during each day...whatever is happening in life around us...our inner man of the spirit stands still before God and "departs not" ...that is the place of constant peace. I have never forgotten that. I have tried to 'live there', but often not 100% successful. But, it is my goal.

Amen sister. Your wording concerning Watchman Nee is interesting to me. You said "you remember hearing". Is that through the ear or through reading. I have read much of Watchman Nee, and have great respect for him as a leader and martyr of God.

Think again. If the Almighty is not pleased whatever is done for others is useless.

restoration of what was "lost" is the only reason man is permitted to remain after A&E were judged. and what pleases Him is the fulfillment thereof. no appeasement in that equation.

If God didn't need appeasement, then there is no need for the blood of Christ. Think again.

again that's not appeasement that is what is required for us to be in His Presence without blame or shame, again its not about God's position on matters, He good where He's at, isn't He? its where we are and where we need to be. God doesn't need us per say, but again His Word is to be fulfilled. and He's the only One qualified to do even that (hence the blood of Christ), so again, appeasement has nothing to do with it, it is all for the sake of the "lost" that they be restored.

maybe you should think again. appeasement is temporary feel good peace making like men do, or giving a child what they want to shut them up until they want something again. what God did is permanent for our sakes to be with Him and He with us.

Of course it is appeasement. Whether temporary or eternal doesn't matter. In this case it is eternal.

The lost will not be restored unless God's righteousness is appeased and satisfied. Think again, harder this time.
