Titus 2:3-5

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

1 Timothy 5:14

14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

Modern women in feminist influenced cultures like America are taught that being at home is a degradation to our gifts and talents. We are taught that our true fulfillment lies in paychecks and careers and having the same roles as men. But God's Word commands women to guide the home and be keepers at home. Is it because women are inferior? No. It's a vital role.

As the culture submits to feminism and the churches follow suit, the children are left to be raised by the state. Mothers are told that only two income households can survive and that being at home is boring and unequal to working for a paycheck. Divorce rates rise, men begin to fear and shun marriage, women lose their fertility trying to keep up with their careers, and young people report higher rates of suicidal thoughts and depression.

Women today are taught as I was that it's bad to depend on a man who can leave or die at any time so we are encouraged to take on student Ioan debt for college and have a career without considering being a housewife or stay at home Mom as a legitimate option.

However, if we would trust God and ignore the culture on this, I believe not only would women and their husbands reap immense blessings, but it would greatly bless the next generation.

Women are capable of doing so much but in doing it all, we've become over-stressed, unhealthy, and unhelpful to our husbands. But most importantly, by abandoning the home as priority, we've caused harm to the witness of the Gospel. Our first ministry is to our husbands and children because it's God's order and it keeps the way of Christ from being blasphemed.
