Interesting interpretation of the passage. Yeah, Zechariah and Ezekiel both make some references that could only apply in the context of a nuclear event. Ezekiel 39 has references that are straight out of current Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical manuals.

Ezekiel 39:14-16 (NKJV) “They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of a search party, to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15 The search party will pass through the land; and when anyone sees a man's bone, he shall set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog. 16 The name of the city will also be Hamonah. Thus they shall cleanse the land.

"set apart men regularly employed" implies government clean up crews that deal with hazardous waste. But in this text, it clearly means the area around Israel, and is the aftermath of the Gog/Magog incident previously mentioned. Either way, some nasty times are on the horizon.

I don't consider man's nuclear capabilities matching anything close to what God's consuming fire is going to do to end this present world. That's why we should know man is not going to end this world with his weapons, but God Himself will with His Fire, a consuming fire that will burn man's works off the earth while leaving His creation remaining (Hebrews 12; 2 Pet.3).
