Romans 4-5-6-7-8th chapters is all about the scriptures teaching believers they have another person living in them. I was taught or heard that you can call Romans 5-6-7-8, the Romans road.

-Romans chapter 5 is; 'the one man.' Scripture says 'by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; sin came through - Adam the one man.

-Romans chapter 6 is; 'the old man.' Scripture says 'our old man' is crucified with him.' The old man is; the old way of doing things. The way you lived - the way you presented yourself in the world - and lifestyle before Christ, before you were crucified with Christ. Because 'the old man' is where you recieved a nature. That nature was a 'sinning nature.,' that nature had to die before you could be 'married to another man.' That death loosed her from the unbreakable law that bound her to her husband.

Romans chapter 7 is; 'the dead man.' She is loosed from her husband by the death of 'the old man.' That sinning nature died the moment Jesus Christ died and you were in him on the cross - all of creation is crucified in Christ. The moment you believe and the father puts you in Christ - it is finished, dead, gone, put out by the shed blood and death of another for you and all humanity that will believe. Glory! See why Paul is so important - he gives the right wording if you will - the right terminology. He knew the law better than most according to his own statement. Sat under Gamaliel, who was a doctor of the law. Paul knew the law and could go head to head with any that wanted to talk law. A Pharisee and a very learned man according to the law. So he used that kind of terminology to describe what we have in Christ.

3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. - Acts 22:3 .

Romans chapter 8 is; 'the new man.' By one man sin entered in and death by sin. The old man is crucified and the nature with him. The old way of doing things by that nature. By that death free to be married to another - even Jesus Christ. What you get in Romans 8 is; 'the new man' Christ in you the hope of glory and a shared life 'the twain become one.' It all has taken place the moment you believed and a birth has taken place. That's what it means to be born again - it is finished, and it is complete - in spirit. The mind is your expression of all that has taken place in spirit. It must be known and accessed and used and understood by the believer; but irregardless that is what they have 'in Christ' the moment they 'believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!

@soul man I've heard the expression, the Romans road...

Sometimes it's used with regard to particular Gospel verse quotations from Romans, I think...
