2 Peter 20-22;
It is a clear example of Judas Iscariot, who was never saved.
I would say he had an intimate relationship with Jesus.
Can you show me someone who had an intimate relationship with Jesus and walked away, losing their salvation?
Does the Bible give us an example?
No
Why?
If it's so important, then why?
Could it be that it's not true?
Adam and Eve.

Matthew 5:13;
Salt.
It is worded differently in Mark 9:50;
"Salt is good, and if it loses it's saltiness, how can you make it salty again?
Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other".
Here you see it is a command by Jesus for something we should do, not something we already have.
Therefore, it is not a case
of saved
unsaved
saved again
This does not play into the picture
They both mean the same Rollo.
Mathew and Luke.

Listen to what Lukes says:
"and if it loses its saltiness"...

This means that it CAN lose it's saltiness.
Why else would Luke have said this??

Please don't respond.
I'd like to add my study of salt from Mathew...
Later.

Are you saying Adam and Eve are in hell?
Where in the Bible does it say that?
You asked for someone who lost their salvation.
A and E were in the Garden.
They lost all their preternatural gifts.
They lost everything...
They were banished from the garden.
They spoke to God and now God was mad at them.
How much more lost could one get?

In the end, I don't know if they were saved.
I'm not saying they were lost forever...

I'm saying they lost what they had with God.
WE can lose what we have with God.
It's possible.

Lata...

That brings up the question;
After you got saved, did you ever sin?
When you did, did you lose your salvation?

Yes.
No.

Salvation is not lost by sinning or we'd ALL BE LOST!
It's lost by abandoning God.
By losing our faith.
By no longer trusting in Him for our salvation.

I've been mad at God in my life.
But that did NOT cause me to lose my salvation.
I did not ABANDON Him, I was just mad at him.

And neither did Adam and Eve abandon God.
I knew you were going there.
But I'm an honest person.

SO, you think the sin THEY commited (attributed to Adam, BTW)
was THE SAME as the sin we commit?

Is this why THEIR sin was the cause of so much harm to the rest of humanity?

If we sin it could hurt ourselves or someone close to us.
When THEY sinned, it hurt all of humanity.

It broke the relationship they had with
THEMSELVES
EACH OTHER
GOD
NATURE

I could go through each one, but I think you know.

It doesn't matter
Why would God forgive our sin and not theirs?
They repented
How else could they raise the likes of Abel and Seth?

Your sin affects everyone in your family that were born of you
That's why they are all sinners just like you
Even Noah was a sinner
Enoch was a sinner
Elijah was a sinner
Makes no difference

We each stand alone in the end before our maker

Our sin affects our INDIVIDUAL position with God.
Adam's sin affected EVERYONE'S position with God.

Romans 5:12
Through Adam's sin, DEATH entered into the world. There was no death before. HIS sin is a slight tad bigger than any sin WE could commit.

Death has been transmitted to all men because of Adam.
Romans 5:16b
Judgement arose from ONE MAN, Adam,
HIS sin resulted in condemnation for all mankind.

When WE sin it does not result in condemnation for all men, but only for ourself.

You're misunderstanding the passage.
Due to Adam's sin, we got sent a Messiah.
It was all part of god's plan because he knew anyone of us would sin as he had.
His sin wasn't bigger.
It was better.
It gave us the Messiah

What does "have salt in yourselves mean"?
Jesus said we are the salt of the earth, not of ourselves.

2 Chronicles 13:5
A Salt Covenant

Salt was added to sacrifices as a sign of purification (of the sacrifice).
If we are the salt of the earth, we are the purification of the earth. Or at least, the Sign of it and even literally at times.

Salt makes things endure. It shows that the covenant was permanent. It endured because it had salt added to it. When two made a contract in the O.T. they ate the same salt together to show that the contract was forever.

Now in Mathew Jesus says we are the salt.
There are no more salt covenants.
Jesus abolished the Ceremonial Law.

So salt is a preservative.
For what?

1. To preserve the word of God and pass on what Jesus expects from us.

2. To keep us from legality. We love FIRST, and then we do His work.

3. To preserve our devotions to God. To be devoted to Him.

God "heals" us....
We "heal" the world.

Israel's salt came from the Dead Sea. It was impure.
If WE are impure, we lose all of the above.
We cannot preserve the word of God.
We cannot do His work.
We cannot be devoted to Him.
We cannot heal the world.

We become disloyal and are of no use.

YES!

God had our salvation planned.
But if Adam never sinned....
We also would have had the preternatural gifts passsed on to us!
We would not have needed a savior.

If was not better that Adam sinned.
It was a disaster.
It changed our relationship to God.

Romans 5 explains how one man sinned requiring another man to sacrifice Himself (who was also God since only God could fix such damage) to set things straight for those who accepted the plan.

This does not mean I misunderstood Romans 5:16b...
