Gnostics were the wolves in sheep's clothing who taught that the Apostles witness of seeing, touching and knowing God 'was not a witness greater in authority than their own witness of God found ' inside.

Any inner witness that contradicts the witness of the authors of the Bible is to discarded. It is not greater than what the Apostles taught in the pages of the Bible.

The inner witness of the Spirit in the true believer tells the believer whether or not what they are hearing is truth or not. This is taught right in 1 John 2:20-27. The old way of having an official leadership tell you what is truth and what is not got thrown out with the coming of Christ and the giving of the Holy Spirit. Up to then God's people were at the mercy of these leaders. Christ did away with that failed system and leads His people Himself.

Just because some people are not pure, or even born again for that matter, does not mean the ministry of discernment by the Holy Spirit does not exist. Catholics simply do not believe the Apostle John in 1 John 2:20-27. They just don't. Yet they claim to possess the authorized and accurate representation of the original Apostolic teachings. See, you got the Catholics telling you one thing while the Bible says another. The Spirit within the true believer exposes and identifies the falseness of the Catholic church in this matter. And in other matters, too.

Like Hitler before them and his great commission to reset the world to the Aryan ideal, so too is the contemporary powers thinking the same thing.

I wonder if people really understand this, that WWII never really ended. Nazi style socialism is alive and well and still trying to rule the entire world. It will for a while. But it will be defeated by China's/Russia's style of Socialism/Communism and it will be the dreaded end-time power that tramples the whole world underfoot. That's how I understand Revelation at this time.

There's a lot people don't know about WW2.

Hitler believed his Final Solution was in service to Christ.
He and most of his Nazis were Roman Catholic.
The Pope, who knew what was happening, never excommunicated them.

During WW2 Cardinal Pacelli, who was later elected and became Pope Pius XII, referred to the Jews as a people during the international Eucharist Conference as those, "whose lips curse Christ and whose hearts reject him even today".

And all these years later, that is still the case.

Ever wonder why a nation grounded in Christian doctrine are allied with a state that rejects Christ? When God curses them still.

Spotting heretics is easy.

1st, by definition, a heretic is one who holds beliefs you don't. Everyone is fighting to assert theirs is the standard belief by which everyone else is to be compared - and deemed a nasty sounding word, 'heretic,' if they don't align.

Christian history does not inspire unbelievers that we are not a bunch of hypocrites. As soon as one group gets political power over another, they deem the other heretics and the persecutions begin.

The persecutions both leveled against the Jewish people are also noticed by the unbelievers. In discussions such as this, I often think of Roman 14:1, 13 and Jam 4:11-12.

Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong ... So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?​

Let us change that first sentence . A heretic is one who holds beliefs CONTRARY TO the biblical Truth .
That is what a heretic is . They preach another jesus that cannot save , they preach a JESUS that overlooks sins
they preach many doctrines that are contrary to the original pattern JESUS set and the apostels kept and taught .
For that pattern simply learn thy bible . IF we do that then we can easily see error when its introduced .
But if we sit under men and we dont know the bible for ourselves , WELL prepare to be led down a road
and that road wont lead to anything BUT PERDITOIN . And that my friend IS a fact .
I dont point to me , I POINT to CHRIST and if we want to ensure we are following CHRIST , OPEN BIBLES and read FOR YOURSELVES .

I think the Gnostics afforded an interesting proposal regarding the creator.

Being a higher power,consciousness, God created everything to work as designed.(intelligent design)
And then left.

Because that higher power did not require lesser beings for its worship or to please it with their behaviors.

my simple advice is , learn not from the gnostics , learn rather from thy bible , yeah i say learn that JESUS
learn HIS doctrine , learn the apostels doctrine and beware of gnosticism . Even a broke clock is right twice a day

Gnosticism doesn't inform my faith,though I've known Gnostic Christians.

Flee it and never look back . One thing i learned . IF we want truth its best to just get it from that bible
and then we can test all men against the truth . I dont dabble in any of that other stuff .
The bible is enough for me . And more than enough . The HOLY SPIRIT is our guide and the SPIRIT puts a love for truth
upon the hearts of lambs . Many men can appear to have a form of godliness , but beware within they are as graves
and full of dead mens bones . Now let all that draws breath praise and thank the glorious LORD .

like everyones so called scholars always justfies their own denomination . RATHER ODD , DONT YA THINK .
I say READ that bible FOR YOURSELF and stop trusting in men . LEARN JESUS and the letters of the apostels in said bible
THEN you would know what i do . THE SCHOLARS always justify whatever the denomination of said denomination or leader TEACHES .

No. Everyone thinks they hold truths that are biblical. "Heresy" is a secondary concept, rooted in relating one thing to another. So, pretending you hold the keys to biblical truth and everyone who has different beliefs is a heretic is what drives the passion of Christians to persecute other Christians - even more so than non-Christians.

If the Bible says it’s “X” and you say it’s “Y”, you are a heretic. Pure and simple.

The problem is that the majority of Christians are so corrupted on so many levels by one form or another, and so much heresy has been sown by men, that unless one holds to the Bible as it is plainly written without criticism, we end up in the situation where heresy can no longer be discerned.
