World is the age not the earth!

Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Mat 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Mat 13:38 The field is the world (G2889 earth kos'-mos
Probably from the base of G2865; orderly arrangement, that is, decoration; by implication the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively [morally]): - adorning, world.

; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world(G165

From the same as G104; properly an age; by extension perpetuity (also past); by implication the world; specifically (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future): - age, course, eternal, (for) ever (-more), [n-]ever, (beginning of the, while the) world (began, without end).
)
; and the reapers are the angels.
Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world (G165 age

two different words, both translated as world

Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

and what is your point? because as said, the Field is the World. and the World is "WHERE" who is preached, to it's inhabitants, just as in your definition given.
G2889 κόσμος kosmos (koz'-mos) n.
1. orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration.
2. (by implication) the world including its inhabitants.
{literally or figuratively (morally), by implication “world” in a wide or narrow sense}
[probably from the base of G2865]
KJV: adorning, world
Root(s): G2865

and for the Harvest of the World, which is a time. so the earth is "WHERE" in location, and the Harvest is "WHERE" in time.

as said, "what is your point?"

You are making a very good point in the OP. G:0165 is used within the variation with the meaning of an "age," and in verses like Gal 1:5 it should be understood in the English Translations as, IMHO, "To whom the Glory {belongs} during the Age of the ages. Amen."

The usual translations tend to create the idea of of an infinite time period with their "for ever and ever" or words to that effect, whereas the suggested translation above is that during the "seven ages" of mankind, i.e. a finite period of time, all of the Glory belongs to Christ/God.

In the Matt. 13:40 verse you have referenced, I agree with you that the verse should be understood in this fashion: -

"As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be at the end of this world/the Age {of the ages}."

Why do I say this? Because the earth/world is not destroyed or ends at the end of the Millennium Age, but at the beginning of the Age of Eternity, the earth is refurbished like new again like the Lord intended it to be from the very start of creation.

The intentions of the translators was good, but their understanding was not.

Shalom

Just something to think on....... in the definition, G2889 κόσμος kosmos (koz'-mos) n.
1. orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration.
2. (by implication) the world including its inhabitants.
{literally or figuratively (morally), by implication “world” in a wide or narrow sense}
[probably from the base of G2865]
KJV: adorning, world

Just a thought...... where did Man come from? answer the Earth, the dust which is EARTH. scripture, Genesis 3:19 "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."

so the second definition have some ring to it, "including its inhabitants.". just something to think on.....

No rapture!
What does leaving have to do with an age or world, if it is "an end"?

God is not talking about another planet!

God is not talking about another age, because no ages have ended between the Cross and now.

The Second Coming does not end the age or world. That may be your issue?

Does God use airplanes? Is rapture a metaphor for airplanes? Or do you think no one is leaving earth, period?

At the end of this age the tares, children of the devil, will be removed from the earth and burned. Don't you think that will make this heaven on earth?

Reality is this many years have come and gone, and many humans have also come and gone. Jesus did not speak of the in-between.

The harvest at the end of the time of the church. And after the church leaves. The church was an interruption between His first coming and His second coming. The church only represents the dead in between. The church is caught up per Paul and not part of the harvest either. The harvest only happens when the Lamb is physically on the earth. Both the Lord of the harvest and the Lamb/Son are coming at the Second Coming. The 6th Seal in Revelation 6. Then the Trumpets will start sounding gathering the sheep and then the Thunders will sound gathering the wheat.

We are not in-between, the tares are still with us. Jesus will come and he will take these tares and burn them.

We are in between.

The tares are not. They are alive today. They will be identified after the Lamb is present on earth.

The Second Coming is still future. The Cross is the past. Today is the in between.

The tares are here today and Jesus identified them while he was on earth. We know them because they follow God's people where ever they go. The colony of America was settled by Christians. The tares followed the children from England and they still play the part of a Pharisee. They claim to be Jews and are not. They are rich, they get elected to political office and still people can't or don't point them out.
