I'm not talking about the Catholic Church...which I now deem to be a cult.
You don't know what a cult is, and you resort to cheap insults when you have no substantial arguments.
The Catholic Church has been wrong on indulgences and its hyper-exaltation of Mary, among other things.
The Biblical basis for indulgences has been explained several times on this board, you reject all explanations because it does not match up with your standardized fallacies. Indulgences were abused by a small number; that was sin, not doctrine, but you refuse to accept that too. Mary is not hyper-exalted, she is honored because God honored her first. Your anti-Mary animus is not biblical.

Yup.

Claiming that the selling of Indulgences was an “official” Church practice is as stupid and historically-bankrupt as claiming that the Watergate break-in was “official” U.S. Policy because a few guys were involved . . .

You're not a student of history, are you?

Bathing daily is a 20th century phenomenon. In past centuries, people went days and even weeks without bathing.

Do your homework before posting.
I'm embarrassed for you.
How do you know or historians know established city folks were bathless in the first century?

Indulgences caused the Protestant reformation.

The Bible says this.....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

The RCC says..."IMPOSSIBLE!!!".

Wrong, it is about being baptized in water, per Acts 2:38.

1Pe 3:20, Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
1Pe 3:21, The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Another idiotic comment . . .

That's an idiotic thing to say.

Mat 5:21, Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Mat 5:22, But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

In case you didn't know this, the translation of "Raca" is "you idiot."

Therefore you are in danger of the council of heaven, in that you have murdered your brother in your heart.

You don't know what a cult is,

A cult is an organization that not only has false doctrine (as we find in the RCC); but which claims that salvation belongs only to its members. And the latter most definitely applies to the RCC if you take into account some of the statements of some of its adherents.

Your anti-Mary animus is not biblical.

I do not have an ant--Mary animus. For she said that from henceforth all nations would call her blessed.

But we are not to take the blessing of Mary beyond what it was and call her, for example, the "mother of God".

Truly, Jesus was and is God, and Mary was His mother; however, she was not the mother of His Deity but of His humanity. It was only God the Father who begat His Deity; and we need to get that straight.

Exactly.
Saved by water.
Which clears one's conscience.
That defines the power of Acts 2:38 per the remission of sins by water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.

No, study God's word alone and memorize it.
This is not CNN, it is the Bible.
And this is a PERFECT example of why you don’t understand the Bible because you ignore the history and linguistics behind it.

Your posts read like a warning:
“This is what NOT to do” . . .

Yup, yup!
No, they didn’t.

One of the reasons for the Protestant Revolt was the SELLING of Indulgences by a few who were abusing this practice – not Indulgences themselves, Einstein.

Good grief - crack open a history book . . .

And I didn't call ANYBODY an “idiot”.
I said that his comment was idiotic.

Now YOU are in violation of God’s Commandment against bearing false witness . . .

I did, and when the RCC enforced indulgences on the public, Martin Luther, a priest, had enough, then taught it was wrong. Starting the reformation.

This, coming from a guy who ignores history and tells me to do the same . . .
I knew you had no bathless commentary to present about the first century.
Ask one of your statues what they saw back then.

Jesus unites to Himself TWO natures – FULLY Human and FULLY Divine – and these two natures are inseparable. This is the doctrine of the Hypostatic Union.

Mary didn’t give birth to a “nature” - ANY MORE than your mother gave birth to a nature.
YOUR mother gave birth to a person.

Mary gave birth to a Person – in this case, the Second Person of the Trinity, who is GOD.

You are in heresy . . .

You don't even have a CLUE as to what motivated your Protestant Fathers because you ignore history.
Pathetic . . .
