You think you know when He is coming, and yet He says He will come when you think not. Do you not believe what is written? How does this passage support the pre-trib rapture belief exactly?
Jesus sends His angels to gather the elect from heaven and earth in Matthew 24The rapture will occur just before the wrath Jesus will bring down on the entire earth when He returns, as described in passages like Matthew 24:35-39, 1 Thess 5:2-3, 2 Thess 1:7-9 and 2 Peter 3:10-12.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
This occurs at the 6th seal BEFORE THE WRATH OF GOD BEGINS. The trumpets are the wrath of God.
Long story short, Jesus comes at the 6th seal for the gathering from heaven and earth. This occurs at the 6th seal. All go to heaven for the marriage supper and then they return to earth at the end of the marriage supper.
Rev 19
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
So, unless your definition of the "trib" in "pre-trib" refers to the wrath that will come down on the day Christ returns, you are contradicting passages like those.
I don't believe that you understand those passages. The tribulation is over before the wrath of God begins. Tribulation is not wrath. Christ comes at the 6th seal immediately after the tribulation of those days. Then wrath as the trumpets begin after the 7th seal is opened.
