Instead of the real cross being taught there has snuck in a new cross, this new cross does'nt slay the sinner, instead it befriends the world. The real cross doesn't parallel the world, it intersects it, it means death. It seems people see the new cross as a way to achieve the world on a different level. Instead of death to self, we embrace the cleaner lifestyle, people embrace grace and never go on to holiness, never even attempting this state. If we have been truly called, we can really be as holy as holy as we want to be, it's just some people consider themselves holy because the new cross says they are without having to even carry their own cross and using the real cross to slay themselves.

The real cross is a violent death to self, not the idea that God embraces the fruit of sin as some people teach. We must leave our old lives and our sin at the cross, forsaking the sin and then forsaking our lives. Excusing nothing, covering up nothing but going onto holiness.

Those who live under the True Cross see the work done first and foremmost and walk with the Lord from that vantage point.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
(Rom 6:1-12)

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
(Rom 7:4)

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
(Rom 8:2-3)

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
(Rom 5:10-11)

Too many bypass these truths and go out trying to accomplish what Christ has already done. We serve Him from the side of Victory already accomplished FOR US.
