For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This Scripture is used by the oneness believers, that say the Son is the Father.

And if not for Scriptures revealing that the Son is One with the Father, then it would be convincing to believe the Father is the Son, and was Jesus Christ in the flesh.

However, another Scripture reveals how the Son can be called the everlasting Father, without being the Father Himself:

Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

The Rock Christ Jesus is the One begetting us to God, and so He fathers us unto God, to become sons of God, and His brethren.

This agrees with John 1, where it is by the will of the Son, that we are given power to become sons of God.

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.

And so that eternal Life Jesus Christ is with the Father, and is also called the Father, in that by Him we are fathered sons of God.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

And so, the Rock Christ Jesus begets us for the Father.

He can be called the everlasting Father, because He is as the Father's Surrogate to beget us for Him.

Even as He is the Father's Advocate on our behalf.

The Father cannot beget man in the flesh, but the man Christ Jesus can on the Father's behalf.

This is how Christ is the seed of God, by whom we are begotten of God:

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Not only can, but is Robert, so why do you suppose that title is applied to him, since he is not Jehovah the actual Father?
