That's vague. Be specific of what you believe God requires of us to receive His grace.
If you say we must do something, that goes against the theology that God does everything man does nothing.
You said it in your post #281.

Obedience to God is a 'no brainer' but that is not the cause of Salvation.
and it all begins with DO WE BELIEVE the TESTIMONY that GOD gave of HIS SON . BELIEVE .
And while its true there are many men as i once was , who had a head knowledge of the gospel
believed it , yet never truly followed HIM . thems false converts .
SEE if we truly BELIEVE IN CHRIST , would we not BELIEVE in all things HE DID teach n say .
As we read the bible we would love it and embrace it . FOR the LOVE of GOD is now shed upon the hearts
of the true beleivers . THUS if that love is lacking , if that obeidance unto GOD unto CHRIST is lacking
we got us a dead faith as james explained . Paul nor james contradicted each other .
THEY both agreed . yep . Now lift those hands up and let the KING be praised

How about yourself- are you willing to believe God at His word?
Many of even the jews of JESUS day claimed to BELIEVE IN GOD .
They claimed to Love GOD and that HE was their father .
BUT they sure didnt seem to beleive HIS WORD through moses nor the prophets who POINTED TO CHRIST .
THEY didnt believe GOD . Well lets forward to today .
many say they believe in GOD , in CHRIST . YET they sure dont seem to believe the TESTIMONY GOD gave of CHRIST
nor many things JESUS HIMSELF even said . BIG TIME DEAD FAITH . Their faith is in men who twisted scrips unto their own
hearts desire and unto destruction . But a lamb . NOW THEY BELIEVE GOD and thus THEY LOVE THOSE WORDS of pure and holy
truth left to us IN that bible . THEY BELIEVE and thus THEY DO . FOR GOD has given them the spirit .
LET THE KING be praised . SO the question now is
ARE FOLKS GONNA SIT here and believe this crack pipe false love which says it dont matter what one believes
so long as they have some love and common ground and do good works they are fine . CAUSE IT SURE ]
aint what JESUS TAUGHT . so the question is , DO WE BELIEVE CHRIST or what men say about CHRIST .
Exactly david . THE LAMBS WE BELIEVE CHRIST and what HE TAUGHT . let the KING be praised and every hand raised
in honor unto the LORD .

How about yourself- are you willing to believe God at His word?
I believe His word do you?
Mark 16:15-16,
- he that believeth and is baptized will be saved; he that believeth not will be condemned.
Where did Jesus preach saved by belief only and no obedience to His commandments?
Also, Where does the Bible teach obeying or doing Gods will is meriting salvation? I've never read that.

Yes, Did Abraham do works of obedience in Genesis 12, 13, 14, 15 before God accounted His faith as righteousness?
This is what God says concerning exactly how His Salvation comes to Life in an individual.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2in which you once walked according to the [a]course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

These thieves were being crucified. That is Roman punishment.
Perhaps they didn't pay their taxes to Ceasar. We don't really know the circumstances.
All we know is one felt guilty and the other did not.
They could have been followers of John the Baptist.
John himself was beheaded for the crime of calling out Herod's sins.
I don't think Rome needed much arm twisting to execute the Jews.
Perhaps the thief that didn't feel guilty felt justified in his theft.
If they had stolen under Jewish law the penalty would of been what.. stoning?
For some reason one of the thieves realized theft is theft regardless of whom one is stealing from and wrong is wrong.

As far as baptism goes, Jesus himself was baptized by John and his words were.. to fulfill all righteousness.
I don't fully understand what that means, but if Jesus was willing who needed no repentance, then we should be willing also.
After this or during this we are baptized into His name by spirit.
Born again of water and spirit....
Repentance and Salvation.

Some people find that getting dunked in a pool of water can be humiliating. They don't relish the idea of humbling themselves before others.
It's supposed to be an outward confession of leaving one's old ways behind and starting anew.
Jesus was beginning a new ministry different from the old. And this baptismal display was the sign of that new beginning.

Whether the thieves being crucified were baptised or not, we may never know. But it was a repentant heart that saved him in the end.

You have to have a repentant heart first before you even enter the water. The willingness to do so must be present, regardless how humiliating it may seem.

2Ch 34:27
Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.

What was John's message?
Mat 3:1
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
Mat 3:2
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 3:5
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
Mat 3:6
And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

What was his words against this place?

Mat 3:7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

When your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before me.... I heard thee.
Maybe not only our voices but our actions have sounds that only God can hear.

Just thinking..
Hugs

Let us simply BOAST IN THE GLORIOUS LORD . exactly . When paul said ye are saved by grace
and not that of yourselves . WELL lambs know the TRUTH .
We cant boast in our wisdom , cause GOD gave us wisdom
Let not the rich man boast in his riches , let not the wise boast in his wisdom
RATHER GLORY IN and BOAST IN THE GLORIOUS LORD ALONE . WHO is the ONE WORTHY to BE PRAISED .
SO hands up , Its LORD praising and LORD thanking time . To HE we owe all . Let the LORD get all the glory .

Is salvation possible without repentance?
2Pe 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

And further, Acts 2:47 says the Lord adds you to the church upon baptism. Where else in the scriptures does it say how one gets into the body of Christ which is his church?
Hebrews 10:19-20 KJV
[19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, [20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Good Morning Ziggy,

i post this for the benefit of all as you already know this:

"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." John 6:37

When John the Baptist was crying out "Prepare ye the way of the LORD - make straight His paths" - God is Calling out thru the prophet to the lost sheep of Israel, which we will later see in Acts also includes believing Gentiles.

This is exactly what God did Himself with Abraham = First the Call, then our response which leads to repentance which is nothing more then a change of heart/change of direction whereby we BEGIN to follow God = in every case for every person who comes to Christ.

Your personal opinion on this is very divisive.

This from GotQuestions.org

"Believer’s baptism is the act by which a believer in Jesus Christ chooses to be baptized in order to give testimony of his faith. Believer’s baptism is also called “credobaptism,” a term that comes from the Latin word for “creed,” indicating that baptism is a symbol of a person’s adopting a certain doctrine or creed.

Believer’s baptism is clearly taught in Acts 2. In this chapter, Peter is preaching the gospel message on the Day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. In the power of the Holy Spirit, Peter boldly proclaims Jesus’ death and resurrection and commands the crowd to repent and believe in Christ (Acts 2:36, 38). The response to Peter’s gospel presentation is recorded in verse 41: “Those who accepted his message were baptized.” Note the order of events—they accepted the message (the gospel of Christ), and then they were baptized. Only those who believed were baptized. We see the same order in Acts 16, when the Philippian jailer and his family are saved. They believe, and then they are baptized (Acts 16:29–34). The practice of the apostles was to baptize believers, not unbelievers." Source
The website "Got Questions" is not the Bible and that website contains many false ideas. I would advise people to stay away from it.

---In Acts 2:38, water baptism is FOR the remission of sins not because one is already saved. This is the same baptism Peter says saves in 1 Pet 3:21.

---one must believe before one can be water baptized (Mk 16:16) but that does not mean belief alone saves then after one is saved one can be water baptized. Again from Acts 2:38 and 1 Pet 3:21, they teach baptism remits sins/saves not belief only remits sins/saves. Hence salvation requires belief AND baptism.
