well, there is a generally accepted metric that you are calling "mine" but i have nothing to do with it, and it might even bear you out there, would you like to go and find out, and we can just both accept whatever the truth of the matter is, as near as thoughtful unbiased humans can determine?

no matter how many times i quote you directly admitting fears about the future you are still going to deny it i guess, and i am having the time of my life tbh, and not insisting jack near as i can tell. Gone hikin, holla at ya tonight :)

I didn't go looking for that news...there's no remote control on real life Bbyrd. I cleaned the woman's house every few weeks. When she started falling apart telling me what had happened, I could have just pressed a button on my phone and ceased to hear her anguish. That's how she herself lived her own life so there may have been some poetic justice in it, like...you ignored all suffering so you could live in your ivory tower, thinking, at least there will be peace in my lifetime, so now my ears will be shut to your suffering just as you did to others. Its certainly a choice one can make. Its not my choice. We all make our own choices.

Once again, quoting what Jesus and John said about a coming dark time unlike any time before it was or after it will be, is not fearing. But don't take my word for it, look up the definition for "quoting" and then look up the definition for "fearing."

i think the world is passing away, and there is a certain amount of anxiety associated with that, that i am also susceptible to at times, yes

Nope. You are the one asserting certain things. Don't ask me to go find material somewhere in the internet ether to back up the smacking of your own lips. Its a law that every man needs to back up his own smack. :D

well, a point is that that dark time likely happened for them in 70ad, and likely occurs at some point in any life, being as how we all more or less hold the opinion that life used to be better at some point in the past than it is now, as Scripture suggests? Even though "that is not wise?"

then by that logic the onus is on you to support that more ppl die today than died yesterday, right?

Ah, well, now you're talking! My life is vastly better right now than it has ever been. But it isn't the world that has made that so.

again you say according to me, but i am strictly using subjective measurements made by others there, and must admit i share your opinion, even as i recognize that that is only bc my perspective is self-centered or whatever. The world is passing away, so we are told, and the world is better than it has ever been in the past and not worse, as we are also told; Ecclesiastes 7:10 Lexicon: Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.

If its not from wisdom that men ask why the former days were better than today, then it might not be from wisdom to assert that it is so...or to assert the opposite.

You want support for my statement that it was only fairly recently that one press of a button could wipe out thousands or hundreds of thousands of people more quickly than ever before in war? You think one cannon ball can wipe out hundreds of thousands at the same time?

So then, Bbyrd, it is far better war to be able to do more damage more quickly?

no idea, sorry, and our opinions are irrelevant here imo, we tend to hold opinions based upon emotions, and i am just asking for facts, hard data, to get some link with reality right now. Bc historically i am aware that far fewer ppl die in wars now than have ever historically died in wars, regardless of whether we locally are not exactly experiencing that at the moment, granted
so then hard data for your opinion should be pretty easy to come by right, yet i am not aware of it, doesnt mean it doesnt exist, bam state your case, i might even agree. But near as i can tell no one has ever wiped out as many, percentage wise of the entire pop anyway, as the Romans did, not even Genghis or Hannibal?
