Very little difference.
"Theocracy" = The rule of God
"Theonomy" = The law of God

Not sure how you separate the two, and definitions confirm this because they are nearly identical.

The subject really isn't. Many of us swear we live by the 10 Commandments. This is only taking in more than just 10 laws that God gave. (Most of us already "add in" selected things we find all through the book.)

Theocracy means that God is King and Ruler over a nation. Israel was chosen to be a theocracy, but since they clamored for a human king, they got Saul, who turned out to be a disaster. And after that Israel went downhill with a few interludes of blessings, split into two kingdoms, until it finally disappeared. What we now see is the secular nation-state of Israel established by Zionists (who were not looking for Messiah), and who were actually opposed by Orthodox Jews.

Many laws in the Western world do have their roots in the OT and NT, but Dominionists want to establish the Kingdom of God on earth through their own efforts. However, that is NOT the mandate of the Church, since Christ will personally establish His Kingdom after His second coming.

Are you suggesting that Dominionists do not want to establish the Kingdom of God in their own power? If so, that would be incorrect.
