Revelation 19:20-21 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast. and worshiped his image. Now, these two only are thrown into the fiery Lake of burning Sulfur. 21.) The rest of them where killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider. No one but the beast and false prophet are thrown into the lake of burning sulfur. So, These who received the mark of the beast must be coming up in the great white thrown judgment to be judged. They are only killed by the mouth of the sword of the rider who is Christ, for the birds gorged themselves on the flesh of these people. Revelation 20:13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. So, these that took the mark of the beast saw death, then those who verse 13 is speaking of that are dead come up in this great white throne resurrection. I just found this interesting. How does all of this fit in? I am not sure but it says what it does and these who took the mark of the beast are killed and have their bodies of flesh eaten by the birds of the air. They have not been cast into the fiery lake of burning Sulfur where the false prophet and beast went, as some teach they are thrown into the burning lake of fire, but this group seems to go to sleep waiting for the Great White throne judgment it seems. Your comments welcomed. Vickie

You have started out well with your study, Vickie, but you haven't quite followed through far enough with it. Here are three steps to further understanding this topic:Step One:Anyone who worships the beast and his image and receives his mark will: 1. Drink of the wine of the wrath of God.2. Be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.3. Have no rest day or night.Revelation 14:9-11(9) "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,(10) The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:(11) And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."Step Two:In addition to this, a prior affliction will beset those who take the mark of the beast and worship his image:Revelation 16:2(2) "And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and upon them who worshiped his image."Step Three:Not only are death and hell cast into the lake of fire but as a result of being judged by God whoever is not found written in the Book of Life is cast into the lake of fire.Revelation 20:12-15(12) "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.(13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.(14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.(15) And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."This most surely includes those who have worshiped the beast and received his mark, name or number. Revelation 13:4-8(4) "And they worshiped the dragon which gave power to the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast? who is able to make war with him?(5) And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty and two months.(6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.(7) And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and languages, and nations.(8) And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."Conclusion:The truth is given in Revelation 20:15QUOTE
And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
I hope you will welcome this addition to your study, Vickie.Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I appreciate your reply on this subject matter. I found it interesting that Rev 19:21 does say they were killed by the Sword that came out of the mouth of the rider. We know that some times verses can be miss understood and that is why I brought this to the table of the Lord for discussion. I found it interesting. I will answer your replies and I appreciate you entering into this with me. QUOTE

You mention these three above 2.) drink the wrath of God comes on them. I am not saying that God's wrath in not coming on them, but rather Rev 19:21 says they are killed with the sword, not tossed into the fire with the beast and false prophet. The wine of the wrath of God is coming from the rider wouldn't you say? Remember, we are discussing this and I am not hard set in what I have read, but rather exploring it. QUOTE

There is a drink they are being given. Which is the cup of God's anger according to Word biblical commentary, by David E. Aune. I would like to inject Jeremiah 8:14 here because as Jeremiah 8:1 speaks of the bones have come up and the flesh has come back on those who have been resurrected to suffer a 2nd death. To Drink of the cup of wrath, called in this verse, "water of gall to drink". These run into the fortified cities of defense to be silent and hide, for they make the statement that they have sinned against the Lord. In verse 20 they make it clear they have been resurrected at the King's coming and have been left to suffer wrath. They say in verse 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended and we ARE NOT SAVED. This clarifying to us that they have not only been resurrected, but they have been left here with those who are to suffer the WRATH of GOD. The eternal fire from God. is what these who have been resurrected to condemnation Dan 12:2 and John 5:28-29 proclaim will be resurrected to face. Rev 14:10 because fire is a frequent apocalyptic figure for divine judgment, one need not imagine that the flames spoken of in reference to hell are material. Undoubtedly fire signifies a horrible, painful and real judgment. I've gone further into this topic bring out that those who knew God and turned away from him that have died are bought back to face the second death. We, as Rev. 20:6 states have nothing to fear concerning this 2nd death that those who are left behind with those who have taken the mark of the beast have. This is my point that the eternal fire that consumes them all makes some of them die along with those who have been resurrected and who suffer the 2nd death at this event when those who belong to the Lord are removed and placed into some rooms as Isaiah 26:20 describes some more of the detail for us. Hope I haven't lost you in this that God has written for us to know about the 2nd death. It has never been spoken about much and now that I am digging into it, the Lord has written about it in Jeremiah 8 that whole chapter is about those who made a covenant with God and annulled it are being left behind to suffer drinking the cup of wrath, along with those who took the mark. This is new to me to find in the bible but it is there and hope you don't mind my bringing this into it also. Rev 14:13 mentions the blessed are the dead who die from in the Lord from now own at his coming. Then we are left with the revelation of John continuing speaking about the harvesters (angels) who have charge of the fire in Rev 14:18. It appears to be a consuming fire that burns them to chaff, that only ashes are left. There seems to be two groups of people being faced with the wrath of God 1.) those who annulled the covenant, 2.) those who took the mark of the beast. The description of the 2nd death is noted in Rev 20:14 death and Hades is thrown into the lake of fire which is the 2nd death. Very interesting. QUOTE

My reply is firstly that the beast and false prophet are cast alive into the lake of fire as you rightly note. This is where they stay. They are joined next by Satan after he has been bound a thousand years and then loosed to be defeated in battle. Finally the beast, the false prophet and Satan are joined in the lake of fire by death and hell and all those whose names are not found written in the book of life.Revelation 19:20-21(20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.(21) And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeds out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.Secondly bearing in mind that you have included some thoughts about them, let us clarify what happens to the remnant who were slain with the sword of the LORD. This is their first death. Although they are feasted upon by the fowls they are later resurrected, judged and experience a second death when along with death and hell they are cast into the lake of fire, their names not being found written in the book of life.Revelation 20:5-15(5) But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.(6) Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.(7) And when the thousand years have expired, Satan shall be loosed from his prison,(8) And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.(9) And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and encompassed the camp of the saints, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.(10) And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.(11) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.(12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.(13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.(14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.(15) And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.Since God foreknows everything He has already written the names of all His faithful saints in the Lamb's Book of Life, and they are spared from the outpouring of His wrath.Hope your head feels better, Vickie.

This is what John speaks for sure in the revelation that Jesus gave him. These are the facts with this group of people. Satan when he is let loose at the end of the 1000 yrs will be tossed into the lake of burning sulfur where the false prophet and beast had been thrown. This is an interesting point John is making, that is brought out in verse Rev 20:10 that these two are still around, being tormented forever and ever. I find that interesting. Though the condition they are existing in forever is not one I desire at ALL. Revelation 19:20-21(20) And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. The 2nd death has no power over those who HAVE PART in the 1st resurrection. I think many have read over this without much thought given. We who have part in the millennium have not fear of the 2nd death. But not everyone called will enter into the 1st resurrection and the verses will prove this. We are told in John 5:28-29 Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice at his coming back to earth to reign. 1.) all who are in their graves does not mean those who have not known God and we know this because the dead do not hear his voice, but those who have been called hear his voice and will hear his voice from their grave at his coming. Plus we have those who come up in the 2nd resurrection called the rest of the dead do not come up in the 1st resurrection as Rev 20:11-16 speaks about it. 2.) the 1st resurrection is for those who have entered into the covenants only. Starting with Adam till the day of Christ's voice being spoken which will raise up the dead, all who have been called by God in all dispensations, covenants, all who have heard his voice while alive. This will be shown to us in the verses as stated. And we are also told in Rev 20:6 we who are in this first resurrection have no fear of the 2nd death. Hebrews 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5.) who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6.) if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because "TO THEIR LOSS THEY ARE CRUCIFYING THE SON OF GOD ALL OVER AGAIN AND SUBJECTING HIM TO PUBLIC DISGRACE. Heb 6:7 speaks of the land that drinks in rain producing goodness for God receives the blessing from God, but those 8.) who produce THORNS and THISTLES is worthless and is "REJECTED AND IS NIGH UNTO CURSING; WHOSE END IS TO BE BURNED. Jeremiah 8:1 At that time, saith the Lord, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of priest and the bones of prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their GRAVES. They shall spread them before the SUN, the MOON, AND ALL THE HOST OF HEAVEN, whom they have LOVED.We have the description of the 1st resurrection, those who have heard the Lord's voice in their life time and entered into a covenant with the Lord here in Jeremiah 8:1-2 Jeremiah 8:3 God says they have chosen death instead of LIFE. The 2nd death is what they have chosen instead of Eternal life. This is where the number of the Gentiles coming in has to be met. This is another topic, but I wanted to add this in for it is truth. In Jeremiah 8:7 (last part) my people knoweth not the JUDGMENT OF THE LORD. 8:8) How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. 8:9 The wise men are dismayed and TAKEN; lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them? The rest of this chapter speaks so much about the doom and the 2nd death that those who Jesus says in John 5:28-29 who have been resurrected to CONDEMNATION WILL FACE when they are resurrected to face the 2nd death. Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest has past, the summer has ended, and we are NOT SAVED. Jeremiah 8:13 I will surely CONSUME THEM, saith the Lord; there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the tree, and the leaf shall fade; the things that I have given them shall PASS AWAY FROM THEM. In this verse 13, there are the grapes , which are Christians included in this resurrection to face the 2nd death with the fig tree who is Israel. This is a very real and makes me tremble at the truth of what is close to coming to be in the very near resurrection of those who hear the Lord's voice. Does this come out clear to you as it has to me? Our teachers who say we have peace don't worry about God he forgives everything, well, he does if we have not profaned his name repeatedly and not repented for us to make a disgrace to the name we carry, we will be found guilty of this charge to be consumed to a 2nd death at the resurrection. In Christ's words of truth Vickie

"And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."-- Precisely. Those with the mark were killed. They died just as someone who was hit by a car or succumbed to cancer. And just like the car accident or cancer victims, they too will stand before God as the Book of Life is checked for their names. And when their names are not found, God will say, "Depart from me you cursed ones, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels."They will then be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

2 Peter 2:2 For if God did not spare the angels "WHEN THEY SINNED", but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for JUDGMENT; If he did not SPARE the ANCIENT WORLD when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and 7 others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; This is a very scary picture portraying the doom of judgment for angels that sinned against God, the Ancient world, and especially the warning of what has happened with Sodom and Gomorrah being burned to ashes. A stern warning to not be ungodly. For one can choose that path, God forbid, I pray not to.We have a way out, like Lot was given, God provided for him. God will provide for us a way out of sin if we reach out to him and turn from sin, he is there to help each one of us overcome and escape the entanglement of sin. We only have to ask. Not be ashamed to ask. Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filty lives of lawless men, if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. This is especially true of those that follow corrupt desires of the sinful nature and despise authority. This day is fast approaching the Judgment of the ungodly. Let us be overcomer's to our last breath. AMEN.

Actually, I am saying IMHO it appears in the verses of Rev 19:20-21 speaks only the beast and false prophet are thrown into the Lake of fire. the rest are killed by the sword of God's mouth which is not described in these verses, but I believe are in other parts of the bible. The Sword of God's mouth, does many things, cause men's eyes to rot in their sockets. But theseverses say only the beast and false prophet go into the lake of fire.
