I've seen a couple of documentaries about this church and I must say the people there seem to me to be anything but Christian. It got me thinking, how is it that this group manages to continue. Sure I understand there is a freedom of speech issue but the things they do at soldie's funerals are downright disgusting, how on earth do they get away with it? I think it iss good that must other Baptist organisations won't go near them with a bargepole. So what are your thoughts on Wesbro Baptist Church? Does it do any good work at all?

Only to serve to sift the wheat from the chaff as their demonstrations give atheists and humanists more to scream about than ever.

Fred Phelps himself probably has hidden homosexual tendencies thus he spends his life bashing gays.

If you observe and investigate carefully (as I do) you will find that behind every extremely legalistic noisy Christian is a person subject to sin that he tries to blame everyone else for.

If I could spend ten minutes with him in person I could shatter him with just ten words but guys like him avoid such situations. He is a man in turmoil who makes a lot of racket to cover himself up.

He is also one of those people who constantly use one pet verse from their bible to hammer their position but conveniently leave out the verses before and after it because they undermine his position.

Fred Phelps, Elliot Spitzer , congressmen seeking sex in men's washrooms Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Baker, the list is endless, they are all the same. But not all have been caught yet.

If they only realized their sins can be forgiven , but their hypocrisy may not be.

The scriptural basis for that can easily be found in the verses Fred Phelps always leaves out of his anti gay sermons.

You left out Ted Haggart. Tis the difference between religion and relationship, religious fantasy and spiritual reality.

Can't its members have some kind of restraining order to keep them away from funerals?

I suppose we should have some compassion for the misguided Phelps's afterall they really need help.

one when I was net surfing I found a group called Landover Baptist and I couldn't believe what I read, surely this can't be real. I won't post a link if I'm not supposed to but |I expect many of you ahve seen their site. I sincerely hope it is fake.
