In thinking about it, I realize that it doesn't make any difference with regard to sunset versus sunrise; there would still be a lack of a third night.

Not if you have the right day for when the Lord died.

Jay Ross,
re: "Not if you have the right day for when the Lord died."

But this particular topic is only concerned with a 6th day of the week crucifixion.

567 replies, and anyone who wants to the know the event timings of Christ's deliverance, crucifixion, and resurrection are still required to use the old Hebrew calendar reckoning to discover the day He was crucified that aligns with 3 days and 3 nights to the time of Sunday morning when He arose.

That would be an issue for a different topic.

The topic of this thread you started was the three days and three nights. So what I said is very relevant to that.

The topic title was poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. Unfortunately the title couldn't be edited once it was posted. However, it had been clarified in subsequent posts. Again, the topic request for examples is with regard to the commonality of forecasting a daytime or a night time when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur.

FHII,
re: "That conversation has pretty much died down it seems."

Nevertheless, someone visiting the topic in the future may know of examples.

There are really only two examples -- Jonah was a type of Christ and Christ was the anti-type of Jonah. And Jesus (His soul and spirit) was literally in Sheol/Hades (in the heart of the earth or the lower parts of the hearth) for three day and three nights. He knew in advance that that would be the limit of His stay in Sheol/Hades and prophesied His own death, burial, and resurrection.

And this event totally demolishes the false doctrine of Soul Sleep. Souls do not go and sleep in their graves six feet under the soil, but either go to Hades or to be be with Christ.

Enoch111,
re: "There are really only two examples..."

Perhaps you might provide the two examples where a daytime or a night time was forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of night time could have occurred.

There's no need to get into fractions of days and nights. Hebrew days began and ended at sunset. That is all we need to concern ourselves with.

Enoch111,
re: "There's no need to get into fractions of days and nights."

The Messiah specifically stipulated that 3 nights would be involved with His time in the "heart of the earth". A 6th day of the week death/1st day of the week resurrection does not allow for even a portion of a 3rd night.

What is your point?
