Well duh. In the 1800's I couldn't vote, probably wouldn't be allowed to work outside the home (let alone work in the sciences), there'd be a good chance me and/or some of my kids would die during childbirth or from some disease we don't even think about now, I could be put in jail for owing money, depending on the denomination I might not be able to be a youth minister, and don't even get me started on the corsets!!
