Everyone also knows about the gas thing, I think. Remember months ago talking to @JohnDB about not trusting the grid and thinking I was paranoid about believing we would experience blackouts everywhere at some point.

Turns out- not really all that paranoid

I remember the gas shortages of the 1970s. The trend toward small cars came out of it. At the time, gas was about 19 cents an imperial gallon, which is about 25% larger than an American gallon. It was caused by OPEC and was aimed at countries that supported Israel during the Yom Kippur war.
