@Truth7t7 As far historical evidences I can understand that the wrath of God was going to come upon the nation of Israel. There is no denying what Jesus states about the Pharisees and scribes and towards that generation in that day.

Thank you again for your interest, I believe by faith what Jesus said was true and believe he came and everything he promised that they would see happen, @Truth7t7.

Yeah I have no idea completely what they believe just for clarification. I never studied the belief system. I do believe what the Bible states though about “Jesus would return in their time”. That is my main point.

Though many may disagree.

The Bible what does it say about when Jesus would return?

The Bible what does it say about when Jesus would return?
Jesus Christ Returns In Fire And Final Judgement, Dissolving This Existing Earth By Fire, Immediately After The Tribulation

This Existing Heaven And Earth Will Be (Replaced) By The New Heaven, Earth, Jerusalem, A New Creation, At The Return Of Jesus Christ

(Behold, I Make All Things New)

2 Peter 3:10-13KJV
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 21:1-5KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Matthew 24:29-30KJV
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

1 Corinthians 3:13KJV
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Luke 17:29-30KJV
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9KJV
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance
on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Malachi 3:2KJV
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Psalm 46:6KJV
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Psalm 50:3KJV
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Psalm 97:5KJV
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

Isaiah 66:15KJV
15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Zechariah 14:12KJV
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Nahum 1:5-6KJV
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Revelation 20:9KJV
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

I’ve stated I am not a futurist.

I use to believe Jesus was returning: I now believe he returned for his bride in the 1 century, and now the kingdom of God is in full effect now in this world by the spiritual filled believers in Christ.

The kingdom of God having been established, there will never be an end to the increase of it, from this day in age forward.
Three pages, and I didn't get where you were coming from until now.

I've never met anyone who believed this, but if I remember my church history correctly, this was the position of the Catholic Church for centuries. It may still be.

Just beware of the triumphalism that goes with it.

That is a lot of scripture to try and reconcile my dear friend. I do thank you for being them about. You know it is interesting how often the people that were written in that day in age was known as Saints.

Saints in Rome,
Elect and chosen in James.

How can biblical literalism get around this historical premise?

Hello Lambano,

I don’t know Catholic doctrine nor studied its history’s

It’s a dangerous teaching for those who expect Jesus return. With a opposing view like this it can make people lose hope actually.

The true hope I see is deliverance from darkness and light to having a renewed heart and mind and having the Holy Spirit and spirit of Christ in dwelling you being part of the kingdom now and having freedom from bondage and having liberty in Christ.

Along with sharing Jesus with others.

Do you believe in a "Future" bodily resurrection of the dead in Christ?

1 Corinthians 15
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

The kingdom of God having been established, there will never be an end to the increase of it, from this day in age forward.

I empirically observe that sin and death are still in effect in this and affect believers and non-believers alike. Do you foresee a time when this will no longer be true?

This is for you to clarify what you believe.

Lambano,

I see all people having a judgment at death, however I do not see it like the white throne judgment ( as I believe that has already happened). There is a judgment and I believe it will be God looking at our heart. Perhaps one will be able to talk to one who is at the gate of the city and say no to the offer and live outside the gates.

@Truth7t7 i believe God will give spiritual bodies. Some may disagree for you believe a new world will be coming which one will dwell on at death and resurrection right?

I do believe Jesus raised from the dead in a fleshly body, and ascended to Heaven sat at the right hand of God and gave everything back the Father. Once all enemies had been placed under the feet of Jesus: Satan his demons, grave/Sheol/hell, death, and sin. God became all in all, in which to me brings forth like the transfiguration on the mountain: the fullness of Gods glory becoming one with the Father again: as the Lord God Almighty.

@Lambano,

Sin has been paid for, we will die, however Jesus has conquered over death, and sin. Those in Christ are able to have help overcoming their evil heart in allowing God to work on them. Unbelievers will not seem to have this help as they willingly may reject God for the moment.

Does this help you understand?

As stated "Full Preterism" all has been fulfilled

No future second coming of Jesus in the heavens or bodily resurrection of the dead in Christ

2 Timothy 2:17-18KJV
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

I am a heretic then. I do believe he came and got his bride. The Bible states that was what was to happen, Jesus was to return.

Is the Bible a fraud? Is Jesus a fraud? Did he mean what he said is my questions my friend.

I love you and Lambano and all my brother and Sisters in Christ.

You can continue to believe futurism if you would like to. :)

Will the evil heart ever be overcome completely?
This is a subject close to my heart. I'm aware of the evil within me. I see at least two active threads where men claim to have overcome their evil hearts - while their pride and lack of love and compassion (and indeed contempt for) their neighbors are on public display for all to see. My understanding is that my resurrection body will have a new heart. Sister says I'm too patient; I should want it now.

I love you and Lambano and all my brother and Sisters in Christ.

In another thread, I took on the shared assignment of looking for Christ in the faces of my brothers and sisters. Maybe I caught a glimpse of Him here.

Hebrews 3:12-13 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called, “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
