Most of the fires are up north.
Around the Cassiar and Yellowhead Highways, including central BC.

This is coming from much closer. Radium and invermere are socked in...and the whole valley from Cranbrook to the US boarder ....,we can hardly see across the street here. Our houses are full of it..even with closed windows..Never, ever had it like this...they say this is the worst ever since the very beginning of record keeping.

Oh my goodness.... 110!! Eekkkk!

It was 90 in our house...we do not have A/C here...we have to have all our windows closed and advised not to go outside because of the thick smoke from forrest fires...it is like thick fog. :(

Then, on top of that our power went down...it was down for 3 hours..
So...no open windows in this heat...and all out fans stopped!!!!!

It was suffocating...something like living in a horror movie.

It has cooled down outside thankfully...but this is the third day of the closed windows advisory. And Very High Risk air quality.

Yipes...!!

Saharan dust added to our high temps. Seems to have affected me with bronchitis type symptoms that are still lingering. Ugh!

Sometimes we have AC full time at one place and other times like now, while we are clearing land, setting fence posts, burning brush....it is hot, hot, hot...with intermittent AC relief using a generator, $$$ fuel costs.

Moon is waxing, so will have a few cooler evenings to work later by moon light.

God Bless,

If you can tolerate it a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar daily helps keep mosquitos from biting some people. Works for us.

Thank You Taken,
Oh ! Gee! clunk to my head a few times.......

Since I moved in here each summer I would have a drink of that !
Every day ! Nice tall glass... about a 1/4cup of apple cider vinegar & stevia to sweeten it.
Taste good and I guess that did it ...
Since the temps have not been to hot, I have not been doing that.

You are welcome. Vinegar is my go product for tons of things.

Not sure if you are aware of apple cider vinegar AND apple cider vinegar WITH MOTHER, which is the favored choice for using the vinegar internally, which has the additional health wise benefits, beyond mosquitos. Maybe check that out if you are not familiar.

It is typically sold in grocery stores right next to regular apple cider vinegar, but will say MOTHER on the label. (It can be organic, or not).

Well....it has arrived!!

We have SNOW. Nasty wind and wet blowing snow.
Most years we have been able to count on September being one of our best and sunniest of months...

Not this year!!

What a strange year we have had here in Western Canada.
Not the best at all.
We had snow right up until mid April...then June was not too bad..warm but not hot like summer...
Rain in July, and then very hot , but thick smoke all through August.
Terrible heat especially with our windows closed to keep out the smoke. 6 fans running all the time.
Now in September...rain almost every day..( when it wasn't snow)

I think we will very much remember this years weather...the strangest ever. From winter to winter...

But I don't think that you had over a month of thick smoke from forest fires did you?

We Alberta, had smoke from BC when most of the Province was burning!! And we had it from the left of us also and from the States below us... Even now they don't know the long tern effect on our bodies from toxic ash.

But...by what I read...you lot over there in the East would be very happy if the whole of the West burned!!! LOL

The Tale of the East and West... :)

Not at all. Some of us care deeply for people outside Quebec....which we call the ROC (rest of Canada) ;)

LOL, funny.

Guess people all around have little quirky things like that.

In Michigan, the people in the Lower Pensulia call the people in the Upper Pensulia "upers".
The people in the Upper Pensulia call the people in the lower Pensulia "trolls", because they live "under...below" the bridge.
And if you are not a local on Mackinac Island, MI, you are called a "fudgie".
