@Nancy We are still having flash storms here. But Thursday , Friday, Saturday it going to be 37 degrees here! Which is 98.6F
Hubby will be happy...but the poor dog, a Lab will not be happy.

We have had over 14 days of 112-114 and there is still excessive heat warning's for the rest of this week--I could lay down in a 4 foot deep snow drift, and be quite please! I lived in Idaho for 23 years, and I think I would be happy to shovel snow for a couple of years. Cabin Fever, at least in Idaho I could still be Active during the Winter, Here In Arizona the older I get the worse the Heat Affects me!

If you can Afford it, and have a good motor home or pull trailer, Quartzsite Arizona, you can camp here for 180.00 dollars for 7 month's, Access to water, and food is just a couple miles away. For 180.00 you have free water, free waste dump, and where you choose to camp, it is your spot for the 7 months, and the winter here is quite nice! Sept 15th thru Apr 15th, we get a lot of Canadians here!

I think in your neck of the woods, rain would feel good BUT, then the Humidity.
Same here, we had a long rain about two week ago, we sat out front and enjoyed 76 degrees, then it stopped, and the sun came out and the steam arose! 113 at the end of the day + Humidity

Yes-that does cause a steam bath, lol...not a fan of humidity-kinda saps the energy out of me! Hard for many to breathe too. We need it for the grass and flowers, plants... L)

Yes they allow pets, strict leash rules, and if you have small dogs you must be aware of the Coyote's. BLM Yuma Office, LTVA Camping for more Info. Long Term Visitors Area = LTVA, We actually lived on the Area for two and a half years, they allowed us to stay out there because we worked for the BLM during the winter and through the Summer to clean up after the Snow-Birds left in Spring. Snow-Birds are those that come here for the winter from frozen areas, like Canada, Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, you know!

Ah yes, snow birds lol, I know many of them...ideal life! Coyotes, yes, I had them in my yard one time, there were all kinds of wild life there...I have small dogs and when I would take them in the back yard which was 9 acres, they shunned the tree line...almost like they smelled danger...and they would not let me out of their site...if I turned and started in the oppisite direction...they would be on my heals in a second, lol.

My friend's parents have a house there...they go down for 5 months and a few days every winter...snow-birding must be under six months now. They are getting tight at the boarder. All of their extended family go down there for Christmas every single year.

We have given away moe than we have saved...so no...we have no camper , we don't even own this house...we gave ours away when we left England ...the 12 seater van too....and we have never felt led to own much of anything at all. We 'travel' light

I'am Wit Ya! It is called Simplify, the more you have the more you have to loose. I might know your friends, I have worked at the only Hardware Store in Quartzsite for 6 years, and I know a lot of folk's from all over the Continent!

It's been hot, but there was rain last night which cooled down nicely today into the 80's. The forecaster last night said it would not reach 100 degrees again this year, but on that one I will wait and see. It would be nice if he were right...

I don't always believe the forecasters. They are similar to some Bible readers [teachers?]. They have a lot of information available but they frequently come up short with their conclusions. I been there and done that too much myself to be too hard on the weather forecasters. I still hope for an early Fall, but then I am quite sure our Winter will not be anything like yours.

I have been really bad all day...my heart is never wonderful, but even worse today.
The air quality here in Calgary is PLUS 10...it can't go higher.
Even inside with all windows closed it is hard for me to breath.
The smoke from the forrest fires are coming over from southern BC.
It's terrible.

Our Air Quality here in Arizona Has been bad from all of California Fires.
But today's high was only 105 better than 114 with humidity.

Yes just after I posted 656 the news came on and It was about the Fires in BC, will be Praying for relief, and end of fire's!
I live in Arizona South, and it would take Napalm to get a wild fire here!
In the North they had the forest's closed for a while, then the Monsoon rain's came!
