What is "Self righteousness", in the context of the NT?

Its trying to "make self right.....with God".

Well, that is RELIGION.......in many cases.

But specifically within CHRISTIANITY........ "trying to make self right, is the same as trying to keep self right".
See that?
= Its SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Many Believers are trying to keep self right...with GOD, so that GOD will keep them...

What is that?
That is a born again person, who has left God's Grace, and entered the FLESH MIND that is : "trying to keep myself right with God....to stay saved".

Paul talks about this a lot, in Galatians.
He defines these as "fallen from GRACE".
And when these same teach on a Forum that you are to keep yourself saved by whatever makes up their self saving list, then that person is : Galatians 1:8

Thats a fact.

Take a look at those Christ rejecting Hebrews, in 10:26 who were never born again.
Paul is burning them with the truth, and they are burning within their hatred of Christ, standing there, as lost Jews who were never saved.

This same is found in Acts 28..... the last 10 verses.
Same type, same Christ rejecting Hebrews......none born again, all refusing their Messiah.
Same apostle Paul trying to deal with them.
Same end result.

So stop telling people that they are saved even if they reject Christ! Lol!

If later, you die in unbelief, then you died born again, in unbelief.
THis is not the same as dying lost, or unforgiven..


Try to understand Ferris, that the sin of unbelief, is paid for just like all other sins, if you are born again.

The Bible plainly says that is the one sin that is not forgiven....

...blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come. Matthew 12:31-32

IN our case, God justifies us, by our faith, ONCE...and forever.......which is sealed by being born again.

You have genuine born again people not holding on and in unbelief still being saved. That's not what the Bible says.....

...we are His house, if we hold firmly c to our confidence and the hope of which we boast. Hebrews 3:6

14We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first. Hebrews 3:14​

You say born again people who don't hold firmly are His house, and share in Christ. That's not what the Bible says. You have been teaching false, heretical doctrine. And, you're destroying God's temple. You've got a load of guilt to deal with when Jesus comes back, friend. Get right now while you still can. Read the verses above and see that genuine born again people hold firmly, or else they aren't genuine born again believing people. Read it!

Its one or the other.
You either trust Christ to keep you saved, or you trust in your own believing, .........as long as you keep believing.....you BELIEVE you are keeping yourself saved. So, that is faith in YOU......not in Christ.

We find Salvation by this part...>"into this Grace"..
See that part?
That is the Grace of God where Salvation Exists.
It does not exist as FAITH.
Its GRACE through Faith.....not Faith is Grace., Ferris.
Salvation exist in and AS The Grace of God.
More specifically, its the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD, in Christ.
That is the Gift of Salvation.

Faith is not Salvation.
Faith cannot save you.
God SAVES you....through your faith.

YOU are saved by the Blood Of Jesus, according to being born again.

Here is the verse you need to learn.

"God who began salvation in all the born again...will Himself be faithful to complete it"..

See that verse?
Thats why you stay saved., and can't lose your salvation.
Its because GOD is faithful to complete your salvation, if you are born again.

Now, its really time that you start giving God all the credit due Him for your Salvation, and that means you need to stop trying to take the credit for it in every post you write.

You can't be saved if you don't! Why did you just blow off the Hebrews 3 verses? Your teaching directly contradicts the plain read of Hebrews 3:6 and Hebrews 3:14. No interpretation needed. And we're supposed to listen to you? Really?

You say that believers who don't hold firmly do belong to Christ's house, and are partakers of Christ. And worse than that, you say those who do are holding firmly are working a works gospel of self righteousness. You have some really twisted up ideas there, pal.
