The Bible plainly says we can know for sure that we are saved and have eternal life by how we live. .
If you can have eternal life by how you live, the why did Jesus have to die on a Cross to give you eternal life?

The Bible plainly says we can know for sure that we are saved and have eternal life by how we live. .
Trusting in God for salvation is not the works gospel.
Yes, that is true for the believing, born again person, not for the person who thinks they are born again but who's life of deliberate and habitual sin shows they are not born again.....a born again Christian can't be judged in eternity for SIN as their SIN has already been judged on EARTH.
......through faith. The faith through which you are protected by God's power until the day of salvation. You are kept saved by the same that saved you.
That's the blood of Jesus.
There is no boast in believing....Your self effort to try to keep yourself saved by believing, after you are already born again,.... is just one more way to not give Credit to Christ alone, for what He accomplished on the Cross.
You keep separating believing from being saved. Believing is not a work of self righteousness. If it is, then none of us are saved. The reason you are born again is because you received the power of God in the gospel by believing in the gospel (Romans 1:16). And you are kept safe by God's power for salvation through that same believing (1 Peter 1:5). You can't have the keeping power of the gospel without believing in it.No, thats wrong.
its like this.
Everyone who is born again has eternal life, as Christ who is Eternal life is in them.
That's why you have it.
No other reason.
That's why you don't receive eternal life by how you live, but rather through faith in Christ. How you live only SHOWS if you believe and have eternal life or not. I didn't say that, John did....If you can have eternal life by how you live, the why did Jesus have to die on a Cross to give you eternal life?
And believing in God is why you are born again. You can't be born again apart from believing in God. The person who is not believing in God is not born again.Being born again, is why you have Eternal life.
"Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). You have to let the 'rhema' word of salvation—the word of faith—that you 'heard' in the beginning remain in you in believing in order to remain in the promise of eternal life.....You dont have to try to believe for it, once you have Jesus in you.
Wake up.
Well, @Behold , are you going to respond to this?Your "unbelieving Christian" is an hypothetical fiction.
Can't you see that denying him and being unfaithful to him have to be two different things? Contrary to @Behold 's claim, you can't deny Christ and still be in Christ. You can be unfaithful and still belong to Christ (cheat on your taxes because you're afraid of a losing a few bucks, lose your temper when someone provokes you, etc.) but you can not deny Christ in an outright rejection of Him in willful unbelief and still belong to Christ.12) If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13) If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
A rather incredible statement, don't you think?
I have confidence in the Truth.
Thats Jesus. John 14:6
Also, a born again Christian can't be judged in eternity for SIN as their SIN has already been judged on EARTH.
That's = Jesus becoming their sin and DYING for them all. = THE Cross
So, do you see that Judgement? That is the Good News of the Gospel.
After the born again die, or after the Rapture, the born again will give account to Christ for "what have you done in the/my BODY".
And that is not a judgement for SIN, that is a REWARDS situation where our MOTIVE, regarding all the things we ever did, for Jesus, will be evaluated by Christ Himself.
......through faith. But you keep saying believing in Christ is the same as you trying to save yourself through works.
You keep separating believing from being saved.
The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. 8 The one who practices sin is of the devil... 1 John 3:7-8.
And believing in God is why you are born again. You can't be born again apart from believing in God.
you can't deny Christ and still be in Christ..
Doesn't explain how u dismiss all the verses that say we will be judged on what we've done
Doesn't address Paul's battle against sin either
not...i lose my salvation by losing my faith".
If trusting in the blood is me trusting in myself then that's what it was when I first trusted in God.you are trusting in YOURSELF to do what Christ has already accomplished for you.
Jesus' ministry is indeed complete. It does not have to be performed over and over again like the Levite's ministry. The Levitical ministry did not continue because the sacrifice did not last on the altar or because the high priest died. And that is the part about Christ's ministry that you are leaving out and causing you to have erroneous teachings about salvation—his ministry must also continue on behalf of the believer.Salvation is not a process, its the "finished work of Jesus on the Cross" that you receive
