Doctrines ie teachings that come from the Bible's writings tie the whole puzzle together ie, they are not at variance wth each other. The puzzle of course is the great Plan of Redemption. This is the singular theme and purpose of the scriptures. Every individual doctrine of the Bible supports every other doctrine in a seamless consistent fabric of truth to that end. One would one expect nothing less from the Author of light.

Doctrines are sign posts, they say 'this direction' for the good reason of being able to build solidly and assuredly. When there are gaps and inconsistencies in teachings; when error is believed as truth it is impossible to get clarity. One must fudge texts and avoid others that do not align with the favourite view. One must be dishonest with oneself.

Interestingly, scripture interprets scripture in a most stunning way so that the seeker for truth may know and be assured of the direction he/she is walking.

The danger of misinterpretation is that it poisons vision; it is shortsighted and the fabric woven becomes thin, has gaps and knots which are irreconcilable. Misinterpretation is the lie Eve believed at the outset. It takes people to false highs only to let them fall often irretrievably. It is impossible for a lie to take one to a place of rest.

It behooves us all to examine our positions for time is shorter than many realise. We are called to wake from slumber and trim our lamps.

The scripture identifies our time as the last generation. If you are unaware of this, take stock as the deceptions on our doorstep will be overwhelming. Only those who enter the sheepfold by the door will find a welcoming Shepherd.

Doctrines are simply the definition of one's faith system. As long as you have a creature that can conceive of such spiritual issues as, purpose, morality, and love, invariably one will start to delineate a belief system. This has been an anthropological fact since history began, whether the system or religion, is based on fact or not.
And thus, by God's providence and solicitude, he offered us doctrines that pertain to incontrovertible truth, God's eternal Word.
As long as man has free will, and worse, gained the knowledge of good and evil, doctrines from God are imperative for man's well being, and ultimately, his salvation.
