How about if you do your best to look up Deut. 17:17 which records God commanding that a king "Neither shall he multiply wives to himself.".
If you are expecting to debate over scriptures I do not know....you will fail. Multiply...biblical concept...always associated with incredible numbers...stars of the sky...sand of the shores...dust of the earth...etc. And the scripture it is wise advise even if you can count to 100. It is wise advise because of the practicality of it. Back in the Old Testament for kings and dignitaries it became a political issue....marrying Pagan wives to keep the peace.
I am trying to be very careful here as we help you find God's determination upon your questions. I do not want to discourage and impede your discoveries. Let's together thank God for His kindness to provide such clarity in His Scripture.
You are of no help....just disinformation and misunderstandings.
In fact, let's look at Matt. 19 where the inquiring Believer asked Jesus about attaining eternal life. The man was a Jew, asking the question about eternal life from a Jewish perspective, which held that a prosperous life here on Earth lived in obedience to Mosaic Law would be carried to eternal life. Jesus' initial response acknowledged that particular belief. Back then, Jews had absolutely no concept about Eternal life in Heaven being an undeserved gift from God through Christ.
First off I will tell you this...in the Old Testament there was no spiritual salvation and God never offered heaven as a reward. The Jews in Christ's era knew of heaven, hell, and the devil for different reasons. So the Jewish perspective that you are referencing does not hold water. And as far as Christ's answer it was clear and concise.
Since that Jewish belief about the attainment of eternal life was, in their thinking, linked to a righteous temporal life through the Mosaic Law,
No such belief in the Old Testament. No path to heaven and no salvation.
Neither the man or Christ was discussing discipleship....ie And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? The word disciple does not occur in that sequence of scriptures.Hence, Jesus introduced the notion of Discipleship by using the man's own misconception and ignorance of Heavenly life.
You have your own stuff going on in your head and you are trying override the scriptures with your own beliefs. Learn from the Bible, because the Bible is not going to change in accordance with your will.
Remember, Apostle Peter did not actually become converted until after he had seen and accepted the Resurrected Jesus.
The discussion as to where any of the Apostles were at in their faith in Christ is a topic.
They were hiding when the women were at the cross with Christ.
They were hiding when the women went to the tomb.
A woman was given the privilege of announcing the resurrected Christ...the Apostles did not believe.
When He appeared to the Apostles they thought He was a ghost, rather than believe He had resurrected. Faith! There first thought that He was a ghost! Did the women at the tomb think He was a ghost? LOL They knew!
