Heretics are all defined by their belief that salvation is their responsibility to earn, or to Keep.,
Interesting because this is what the Bible teaches about heretics:
You shall know them by their fruits:
“Beware of
false prophets… Ye shall know them by their fruits. ” (Matthew 7:15-16)
In
Once Saved Always Saved you shall NOT know them by their fruits because OSAS’ers believe you will never stop sinning.
Second: Teaching contrary to Christ’s words is heretical:
“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,
even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing” (1 Timothy 6:3-4)
OSAS’ers are proud and teach contrary to Christ’s teaching on enduring to the end to be saved Matthew 10:22
Thirdly: I have learned from the Bible that sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth will have dire consequences affecting one’s salvation:
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” (Hebrews 10:26-27)
OSAS’ers cause division and offense regarding this scripture and thus they are to be avoided:
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Romans 16:17-18)
Finally: the doctrine of
Once Saved Always Saved turns Grace into a sin-pass:
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men,
turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness” (Jude 1:4)
Now go find the real biblical heretics!
Not the ones you create in your mind.
