Believe it or not if you can actually prove it I am all ears and without making God Himself and Jesus out to be liars, I will actually give it a read... Contrary to what has been said, I don't have a closed mind...

In all my years teaching the Trinity I could never do that and I know it inside and out...

I know just about every single way to explain how but not one of them explains how it is possible for God to lie.. nor does it explain how Jesus didn't lie ..

So if you can do it I am all ears...
I flat out don't believe you

That is a great question @True Faith.

To answer it, simply my belief and faith (which is a gift given by YHWH) is in Yahweh who sent His Son, who died on the cross for the sins of the world, and rose him up again on the third day.

Every single day is a challenge. It a minute by minute decision, even hour by hour, whether or not my choice will be to live by faith, and add to my life prayer and seeking out God. Having been able to gladly participate for the past 6 years in doing so, it still continues to be a day to day struggle, but there is great hope that the present moment wont matter as much as having love for God and love for others at the end of life, in allowing God to mold me, and help me to grow. . . If I choose to allow him.

You are equating the Holy Bible with “Books”.

Oh my.

“…the word of God… liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:23)
Yes. The Bible is a only book. For some reason, you are equating parchment with the word of God.

I generally prefer the VOICE translation, which emphasizes God communicated the vast majority of times by voice.

This thread is asking a simple question. What is your answer? It seems you are violating the 2nd commandment, turning a book into an idol.

With all due respect——you, sir, are a Nut....The Bible That in your Confused estimation has practically no value, at least gives some good advice from time to time.....an example of that would be “ Don’t cast your Pearls before Swine”...... there’s some of that “ good advice” that I will now follow....bye, bye! I’ve got better things to do than to try to reason with a guy like you—- I have to rearrange my spice rack....lol...
here is something encouraging to listen too . cause after reading the many posts this other guy has to say it has led to depression .
Folks dont like the bible cause they like to invent their own image of GOD that serves them .

can you prove it without making Jesus and God out to be liars???
John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven not to do mine own will but the will of him that sent me.
Now if Jesus were God in the flesh God lied ..

If you claim that it is the Human will in Jesus then how would his Human will be different that that of God...

If you claim that his will was to do the will of God, then he lied...
John 6:35-40 [NASB]
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

What is the “will” of the Son?
  • Was it His deepest desire to set aside His glory?
  • Did he deeply long to suffer life as a human being in a fallen world?
  • Was it His dream from eternity past to be rejected and despised by His creation?
  • Perhaps his deepest will was the pleasure of being scourged and crucified to relieve the boredom of heaven?
The Second Person of the Triune Godhead agreed to the plan of the Triune Godhead to restore the lost creatures to the Triune Godhead through the giving/drawing of the Father, the work of the Son and the transformational indwelling of the Holy Spirit to draw in, transform and elevate CREATURES to CHILDREN, joint heirs in the eternal LOVE and UNITY of the Godhead.

Nobody lied.

Love the hymn and of course the Father is included in this plea for help of burdens indeed..

When I read your last statement you made amigo, I may be seeing it from the other end of the spiritual spectrum as you. I see it read this way:

On the one side, they believe that folks after the time of Christ began inventing their own image of God and worshiped them indeed and then found scripture to be an annoyance as it did not fit well into their man-made doctrines and used scripture to conform and support their worship to their gods. And that these same folks view the Trinity and its doctrine and trimmings as a god and idol worship as they love the word of God because it support their worship of the one true God, the Father and his Son the son of man, and the Son of God.

The other side loves their Trinity doctrine and do not see any idol worship in it in the least, and call the other side not knowing who is the real God and who is the real Jesus. And now if you will, they make the assertion that the other side now do not love the Bible for some reason.

Without a doubt the most important question you will ever be asked in your Christian Life...

Is your faith in the Bible or is it in God?

If you have to use the Bible to validate your faith, then your faith is in the Bible and not in God.
If you Believe that the Bible supports a Triune God, your faith is in the Bible and not in God.
If you believe Jesus was God Himself, your faith is in the Bible and not in God.
If you believe that God will not talk to you, then your faith is in the Bible and not God.

When you post comments and quote them, please post the entire post and not just bits and pieces.
I know hardly any of you will do that because cherry picking is your way of hiding from the truth...

Your question is the equivalent of asking do you believe in what God said (Bible)or do you believe in God.Put another way is do you have faith in what God said(Bible) or is your faith in God.

Be careful...you are speaking out of ignorance of how the Bible came to be.
It is a compilation of the written scrolls which documented events that took place in the Old Testament and continued in the New Testament.
Without scripture we would have no knowledge of the prophesies spoken of by the prophets of old and by Jesus himself.
You wouldn't have a clue as to what to look for in the last days to know HIS return was soon.
My Faith is given to me by measure from God and it increases by studying the Word of God through scripture.
You quoted a member breaking the 2nd Commandment....how would you know what the 2nd Commandment said unless you were taught either through reading the scripture yourself or by being taught by someone who read the scripture to you.
Can you see how frail your theology is?

Really? Where did I say I bow before my Bible? Where did I say that I burn incense to it?

Your attitude toward the Bible is abominable.

“…the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.” (1 Samuel 3:1)

The Bible is precious these days as well, especially with people like you around: a subversive proud man who sows strife and offense. How do you think a man who loves the word of God would react to your insulting “idol” comment?
