But God does not always show mercy and love. To the obstinate He shows wrath.

Jeremias 29:18 And I will persecute them with the sword, and with famine, and with the pestilence: and I will give them up unto affliction to all the kingdoms of the earth: to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach to all the nations to which I have driven them out:"

And also to His children, He chastises.

Hebrews 12:11 Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice.

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.
You missed the point. That is God unto men, not brother unto brother.

There is a correct way to rebuke a brother, but this man is worse than a lawyer.

I do understand what you are saying and mildness would apply to those that want to learn, seeing the truth being offered, leaving behind what they previously held before. If this is what you mean, I agree.

But then again, a brother is a brother, among brothers, only if he has unity in the Catholic faith.

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father, that is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

And there are times that rebukes must be harsh.

Titus 1:10-14 For there are also many disobedient, vain talkers, and seducers: especially they who are of the circumcision: Who must be reproved, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of them a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slothful bellies. This testimony is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, who turn themselves away from the truth.

This man is of the latter, "giving heed to ... commandments of men, who turn themselves away from the truth."

Thanks you.

That is because you sit in the temple as if you were God. Because men do not catch other men.
If you were of God, you would also show mercy and love.

Really?
Tell that to the next cop who arrests somebody for robbery or murder . . .

Should we be following the example of even the best of cops rather than that of Jesus?

"And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;" Isaiah 11:1-2

What Spirit are we to be of? Who here is even accused of robbery and murder? And the two or three witnesses are?

Even if we are all guilty as charged by God, what was it that Jesus said?

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John 8:7

As for me I would hope that I was one of those who "went out"... But, each of us must do what is in our own heart.

"we were hiding bc we were naked"
"ah, who told you that you were naked? here, have a skin, then."

oh, the horror lol

I think that you might be implying that Jesus did not apply wrath with Adam and Eve? Remember, they were cast out of the garden of Paradise. But Adam and Eve, did repent. A good example of wrath against obstinate's, would be Esau or Cain, they did not repent.

This is what I would consider a waste of a post. Nobody is takoing the example of a cop "rather" than Jesus.
You're simply taking a position to argue.

The point I was making was that God uses whatever means He wants to "catch" us - be it a cop and a thief - or an online poster and an online liar.

Your tongue is very out of control, my friend.

You are the one who brought the cop into the conversation.

"For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison" James 3:7-8

You should consider taking to heart the prayer of the psalmist:

"O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!" Psalm 119:5

We are all liars until we are like Jesus, even me and you. Hopefully God will help both of us to do better, but do we not need to admit we have sinned? When I was Catholic I went to confession. I still confess and pray that God will make the correction.

"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged." Rom 3:4

YOU lie about what I wrote - and MY tongue is "out" of control??
This sounds like a clear-cut case of what Jesus warned against . . .

Matt. 7:2-5
For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.
Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?

How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye?

You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.

If you really believe your tongue is is not out of control then I would suggest your reevaluate your usage to avoid future misunderstandings. If it were me alone, I would simply apologize to you and leave it at that. I do apologize for any misunderstanding on my part, but that leaves probably several others in at best a quandary. Perhaps you should speak to them about this?

I've never stopped speaking to them.
How many times must I tell people to stop telling lies and misrepresenting the Catholic Church??

I don't see people here misrepresenting the teachings and beliefs of Methodists or Baptists or Lutherans or Calvinists or ANY other branch of Protestantism.
Why is it that ONLY the Catholic Church deserves this "honor"??

Interesting how God required Abraham and the Jewish people to lose some skin in order to be in relationship with Him. Wonder if it represents the animal skin in the Garden....

Ego returned......

Thank you for that non-response.
I was simply refuting YOUR false claim that men don't catch other men.

Tell that to Jesus, who produced a coin from a fish's mouth to pay a tax to Caesar.
Tell that to Jesus, who was "caught" by men and hung on a cross for your sins.

Oh those others are also I'm sure are being misrepresented by people who know as little or even less about them than some know about Catholicism. Perhaps because we seldom hear their names called out, we do not recognize that it happening. Perhaps none of them have such outspoken advocates such as yourself...

Who said we were "Brothers" in Christ??
You believe in a completely different Christ that the Christ of Scripture.

The Mormons and the JWs and Oneness Pentecostals and the like ALL believe in different "gods" that the God of Christianity - and so do YOU. You've made that perfectly clear when you said that Jesus is pure spirit. That is a heresy, so why would you think that we are "brothers".

We are neighbors, and I would do anything to help you - but we aren't Adelphos in Christ.
