ha, except the "Son of Man" part, i guess?
You MUST KNOW that refers to the O.T.?
I can explain it if I have to...
The Son of Man refers to the Messiah. It was a Messianic title.
It comes from Daniel 7:13-14

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

This does describe Jesus, as many O.T. prophecies did.
Also, this is true because Jesus was a Son of man. (Mary).
So it's true in more ways than one.

go with that then, prolly for the best

sorry, it just gets frustrating having to deal with imaginary translations all the time, i went and edited, my apologies ok
OK bb.
No problem.
That was from the NASB. My favorite bible. I understand your frustration since you work with Greek.

The KJV quotes it as you said...
"you say that I am".

The YLT, which is the best I can do is:
"And they all said, thou then, art the Son of God?
and he said unto them, 'you say it because I am'. "

No need to continue.
We agree to disagree.

And Jesus told the doubters asking trick questions 2 trap HIM;"Dint Moses(or somebody) say "YE are gods/now tryin act like it;ya morons"(my translation !) <m>
Your translations are much more colorful than the NASB!

****U missed the whole point again. If Eienstein was still here U'D find some way 2 discredit him/False percerptions/scholarship no indicator/what's up w/U.. Were U Poo's friend Eyor in yer last life ?? Writing,"the theory of NEGATIVITY",are we ??Scholarship may B no guarantee/But it beats having nothing better 2 do than snipe @ those who have actually accomplished something !!
Funny you bring up Einstein and I assume that you mean Albert as opposed to the guy that owns the bagel shop chain. While Albert Einstein was a great mathematician and had a good grip on theoretical physics, he was a complete boob with regard to understanding human behavior. For example, when he still lived in Germany he was convinced that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party would just fade into insignificance. Intellect is no guarantor of perceived truth, never was, never will be. I have a friend that was strangled with his umbilical cord during birth and suffered irreparable brain damage from oxygen deprivation. He could understand and did receive the gospel and became a disciple of Jesus Christ. Albert Einstein, with an above average IQ never got there and stands condemned before God for rejecting Christ (unless he was a closet believer.) Intellect means nothing in God's economy. Wise up.

******Just what do I attribute 2 Christs'men that U find inappropriate??
Something about getting in people's faces and telling them they're going to hell. That sort of nonsense. Never seen it once from a solid born again Christian in over 20 years attending something like 5 different assemblies.

Wow ! 5 whole assemblies/makes U an expert/I take it ? & 100,000+ vets agree that the holier than thou attitude and the instant condemnation from pompous Christians is what kept them away from GOD.Just abt. every christan handout/pamphlet says it on pg. 1...Leave your Chrystal Palace and pool the opinions in a homeless shelter some time. You'd B amazed (Nah.ya wouldn't,you'd just point out their shortcomings) <m>

Surely those who are born from above know better than making a call like that ? But then again ? There are some very very odd 'believers' out there that I have come across..
