I always thought biscuits with tea sounded like it wasnt a good mix, but then I learned it was a cookie over there. Bahaha

Lol...me too! I mean, I like a nice biscuit with a little butter and blackberry jam, but with coffee! A cookie, sorry...has to be milk :D

So what is a biscuit in the US ?
If your common over here, which I am , you can dunk your biscuit ( cookie ) into your tea - you have to be quick to take it out and eat it though !! Lol
Years ago I remember some of my older relatives pouring thier tea from the cup into the saucer to drink it - I have no idea why !! ( I seldom use a cup and saucer now, mainly mugs )
I see you have all had a chatty night, and a late night for you @Pearl - I went to bed quite early, and slept. I don't think the weather is going to be ok today- not sure.
Good luck with the study @Nancy
Rita

Thanks Rita...you and I are studying the same thing-end times! I was so into that back in the 90's but, have not looked into it in some time. I find it VERY interesting, albeit confusion!
I am also a dunker :D

I presumed farouk meant they were called muffins in Canada
I have a day off today Helen xx
I haven't had much pain from the tooth, so really grateful for the prayer.
Xx
Here is the American biscuit. It is not sweet but, it is more of a bread thing but....yuuuuumeeee! I hope you are enjoying your day off Rita. Glad your tooth is feeling better...God makes our boo-boo's better ♥

ok I googles again, but asked a different question ! Lol
Biscuits in the US look like our scones - which we usually have with cream/ jam / butter - you can also get savoury ones with cheese.
We would also have them with tea ( a cup of ) but they would not be something we have with dinner.
Rita
The scones we have here are more like big cookies, not soft but more, crunchy.
Our biscuits can be eaten along with dinner DEFINITELY with butter! Or, as my mom used to do is make creamed tuna and peas and ladled it over the biscuits. Awesome!

Well, when you say it like that...agree , it sounds good.
My cheap old Texan friends must have just used water...they were lumpy and very boring.
I tried them twice...then gave them as pass ....and that was back in the 70’s ha!

I must take another run at them.
Though I don’t like couscous either , I give it a pass.
Is that a USA thing, or an import?
I was never a fan of couscous. Tried it a few times but, not for me. I would love to try English bacon. I was talking to someone from the UK once and, I asked him some questions, and when we got to the food he said, he loved our food but really missed the bacon from England. I wonder what the difference is?

I love crispy bacon, but don't have it anymore, since Dan became vegetarian. I love couscous - Dan mixes it with all kinds of bed ect
I would have thought bacon tasted the same in both countries !

To answer your question, I believe the equivalent of a US biscuit in the UK is cob. At least from what google told me LOL
A cob is a loaf of bread or a crusty dinner roll.

Yes it is Helen. Cook in the oven 15-20 minutes on gas mark 6 - perfect.

We were lazy, we just fried ours , fired bacon and fired eggs on a Sunday morning...and always look at someone else's plate to make sure they didn't have even half a rasher of bacon more than us!! :D

I used to use the grill but it's easier in the oven you don't have to keep watch, just set the timer and bingo.

No, nothing alike. A muffin here is like a small cake, a scone there is more like raised thick pastry.
