Mar 6:3, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?
I already gave him that verse before he challenged you...and verse 4 is a clincher, too!

2Co 4:3, But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4, In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

He did (though they were only His half-brothers and sisters)...see Mark 6:3-4

Mar 6:2, And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Mar 6:3, Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mar 6:4, But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

This isn't Biblical "commentary", Einstein.
It's an historical picture of what Christ's Church looked like at the end of the First century.

Your uneducated and asinine objections are just that - uneducated and asinine objections . . .

And YOU raised children??
Your RCC church is built on commentary and still building.

Face it, commentary built the RCC empire that dominates your thinking.

Every RCC doctrine you know is commentary based.

You even quote some weird internet version of some ancient, post Apostolic fathers that may have been made up as fake news by the post Apostolic RCC.

These "fathers" are treated by you and the RCC as your pure word of God.

I will stick with the words of scripture, and not what someone says about someone that commented on the scripture, thank you.

That's what I thought you'd both say.
Time for a Bible lesson . . .

When Jesus made this statement in Matt. 6:7, he was speaking about the nonsensical babbling of pagans to their gods – NOT the sincere prayers of the faithful. We read about them in 1 Kings 18:26-29, where the pagan prophets on Mount Carmel tried to invoke Baal all day long, repeatedly calling on his name and performing ritual dances

In Matt. 26:44, our Lord himself prayed the exact same prayer THREE TIMES in the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper.

In the Parable of the Determined Widow in Luke 18:-87, Jesus emphatically states that God hears those who keep petitioning him in sincere faith: “Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.”

In Luke 18:13, the tax collector kept beating his breast and praying, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.” This was pleasing to God.

We see in Rev. 4:8 that the angels pray the exact same prayer day and night without ceasing in the presence of almighty God, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.”

Psalm 136
goes on for TWENTY SIX VERSES in a row, repeating the exact same prayer, “God's love endures forever”.

Similarly, in Dan. 3:56-88 we read the exact same prayer for THIRTY TWO VERSES, which is “bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever.” This is FAR more repetitious than a decade of the Rosary.

You both need to stop quoting the Bible until you UNDERSTAND what it means . . .

"he was speaking about the nonsensical babbling of pagans "

"Hail Mary!, full of grace, the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen."

"Hail Mary!, full of grace, the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen."

"Hail Mary!, full of grace, the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen."

Whew!

"Hail Mary!, full of grace, the lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen."

Mr. priest in the black box, how many more?....

Yes, not very bright at all.

It's THIS kind of ignorance that makes me understand why people follow a guy like Bernie Sanders . . .
Unfortunately, people of feeble or unstable mind are found everywhere. There are plenty in politics (the Loony Left) and there are plenty in fake Christianity (especially in the "born again" cults).

This thread stinks. I've never seen so many stupid asinine attacks in one place as this thread. A sure sign of anti-Catholic psychosis is how they jump to a different topic with every post, such as Truther. Thank God for the ignore button. This is supposed to be a discussion forum, not a grade 3 English class, and not a psychiatric facility.
I feel your pain. Trying to teach Grade 12 maths to demented five year-olds is a case of Mission: Impossible.

The Church isn't called "The Roman Catholic Church", Einstein.
Do your homework.

"Roman" Catholic refers to the Liturgical Rite. there are about TWENTY Liturgical Rites that comprise the Catholic Church.
Among them are the Byzantine, Coptic, Melkite, Maronite, etc - and they are ALL in communion with each other.

The official name of the Catholic Church is "The Catholic Church" - which is 100% Biblical (Acts 9:31), as I educated you earlier.
Thanks for that in formation, BOL - I have been guilty of that mistake in the past - calling the one true Church the "Roman Catholic Church".. Thanks for setting me straight.

No, the author of the trinity is the Nicene creed, created hundreds of years after the day of Pentecost.

They introduced it to the world as official RCC doctrine.

Since the scriptures were rare to own by a public person, folks obeyed by faith that the RCC taught them the truth....bringing in the dark ages.
How do you manage to get things so wrong? Did you have learning problems at school?

The Church is the body of Christ per the 1st century at Pentecost(prophesied in Matt 16 by Jesus).

The Church isn't the RCC...you are correct, because it started centuries later.
Clearly, you've never studied early Church history or what the early Church Fathers believed and taught.

Sounds like a bunch of insults to me...

Mat 3:8, Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Mat 3:9, And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Mat 3:10, And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 3:11, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Mat 3:12, Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

words of John the Baptist; of whom it was said:

Isa 40:1, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Isa 40:2, Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
Isa 40:3, The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Isa 40:4, Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
Isa 40:5, And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Isa 40:6, The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
Isa 40:7, The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
Isa 40:8, The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

In the latter part of what you are saying, you are referring to those who believe the word of God.

For it is written in it:

Jhn 3:1, There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Jhn 3:2, The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Jhn 3:3, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:4, Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jhn 3:5, Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:6, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jhn 3:7, Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Jhn 3:8, The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Jhn 3:9, Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Jhn 3:10, Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Jhn 3:11, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Jhn 3:12, If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Jhn 3:13, And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Jhn 3:14, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
Jhn 3:15, That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Jhn 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I guess therefore that these "born-again cults" have Jesus as their cult leader.

Praise God!

I seem to recall that Jesus died too. Why do you pray to a dead man?
Jesus is risen from the dead.

However, the bodies of the saints you are seeking help from have not:

1Th 4:13, But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14, For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15, For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

If you do not believe that Jesus is risen from the dead, then you are not saved (currently going to heaven if you die):

Rom 10:8, But what saith it <the righteousness of faith>? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10, For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11, For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12, For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Let me add:

Act 4:10, Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Act 4:11, This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Act 4:12, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

These words seem to indicate to me that you believe that Jesus is not risen.

I suggest that you pray the following prayer, aloud, not caring who hears you (for if you are ashamed of Him and His words, He will be ashamed of you):

Dear Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I call upon Your name for salvation. I believe that You are risen from the dead; and I confess You as Lord. Please forgive me of all my sins, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit; for I repent of walking in the direction of sin in my life and I place my faith and trust in You alone. In Your Name, Amen.

moderators I pray you will understand the importance of this prayer and not delete any of the words to it so that anyone who comes across it may pray to be saved through the words in this prayer.
