If you don't take measures to prevent the spread, then you are responsible for the deaths of others. This is true of all communicable diseases. So, if you pass the flu on to an elderly person who dies from it - you are responsible for their death. The rate of transmission is not the issue, the responsibility is the issue.

Again, the measures are not to "prevent the spread". The virus is going to spread. The question is, at what rate? If we do nothing and it spreads like it did in Italy, hospitals will be overrun and doctors will be forced to decide who gets life saving treatments and who they let die. If we implement the measures we've been doing, the hospitals won't be overrun and lives will be saved.

So it's the difference between someone dying merely from being infected, which is going to happen regardless, and someone dying because there wasn't enough available resources to treat them.

The CDC's latest report has corrected the number of deaths reported...the actual number is 36k...or somewhere around that.

I saw that. You have to pay closer attention to what it actually says. The lower number is because they're only counting deaths from COVID that are recorded as such on death certificates, which as they specifically note, can be weeks behind (because it takes time for the death certificates to be completed, filed, and relayed to the CDC).

Nope, it appears more like you are sooooo eager to prop up your crazy conspiracy theories, you jump on any bit of "news" that you think supports them. Except this time it's just a matter of you not paying attention and relying on sources that are just as lazy and lacking in attention to detail.

I did....I have been in prayer about it and the numbers have been inflated....you know the enemy, our enemy, God's enemy is behind all the deception....right? Satan is the prince of the air and he influences the media...principalities and spiritual wickedness is rampant in our media.

However, what is disturbing is that even though all this information is now public knowledge, there has been no effort from the Oval Office to address the nation and inform everyone that they are being duped, and that the president himself has been duped.

Hello, @farouk, imho, I don't think he is denying that people have died, it is the reported numbers that have been questioned.
There are more deaths reported than what they have bodies.

What puzzles me is talk of hoaxes and scams; yet ppl actually die when the lungs are attacked by this virus. As if to say (by subliminal implication) : If only ppl didn't take precautions then the virus won't attack lungs.

I think it’s something you either have to see for yourself, or be touched by it personally in some way to perhaps take it more seriously.

Some of us have suffered repeated pneumonia, and I remember the SARS, which was very similar to C19. No conspiracy or scam there. Ten years ago I had to attend a work function after SARS from an expert who said that another epidemic is on its way and we have to be ready with preventive measures. It took a full ten years to come; but its coming is not a conspiracy. (As always, given human nature, bureaucratic manoeuvrings in the background are always likely to contain many imperfections, anomalies and the appearance sometimes of insincerity.) The friendly suggestion to moderate terminology comes to mind.

Oh I have long been suspicious of the way huge corporations operate and of how some pharmacuticals charge for their profits.
