Hi Helen,
Yes really sad about Willie xx
Over here we are just waiting to see if the number of cases go up since the lockdown started to lift. Ordinary shops can open in a few weeks and some school children go back on Monday. The news is dominated my Dominique Cummings, an MP that broke the lockdown rules ( for some justified reasons ) everyone is calling for the Prime minister to fire him, but Boris is reluctant to do so. It’s a bit of a tricky one.
My brother was due to come over from Germany in mid July, that’s now in jeapody as Boris has imposed a two week isolation clause for anyone coming into the country !
We are enjoying some beautiful weather at the moment.. work has been hard going, ut we are all ok there.
Studying Nehemiah at the moment, using the same book H2S recommended x
Rita

Good to hear from you.
Have all your children recovered now ( as much as any of us do) from the loss of their dad ?

No, Mark and Sarah have both been hit by sudden grief over the last month, even I have had moments where it has hit me randomly. Dan seems ok, so does Dave- but I think the first year is always full of ups and downs. Xx

So I thought I broke my water yesterday. I decided after church to take my daughter to dollar tree. She hasnt got to go shopping in forever, because of the covid19 around. She was throwing a tantrum being tired and laid down on the sidewalk. So since the car was right there, I picked her up to walk over and put her in the car seat. Well, I didnt see the parking lot beam in front of the car. I tripped over that and lost balance, and both Lorena and I came tumbling down by the back door of the car. The ground was dry, but I was soaked. Lorena bumped her shoulder, but I had scraped my knee and had felt a gush. Bleh. So I had to call my OB and go make sure my water didn't break. Someone got Lorena, and I was at the hospital for a few hours last night. Thankfully, the test came back negative for my water breaking (I'm 32 weeks), but since I was having contractions and my blood pressure was pretty high, I had to stay for awhile to be monitored. I was super embarrassed, but glad I went in. It was just a small trip to splurge a little spontaneously, but should have waited for a night my husband was home.

But today was my last day before maturnity leave. I'll focus on getting my CDA, and take it easy. Take care of the house. I'm super sore today, but all is well with momma, baby John, and Lorena. My OB expects him about 37 to 38 weeks. He is breach, so hopefully he will flip by that time.

This past Saturday, a day early, for Father's Day, my son and his wife after consultation with us beforehand came to visit us in the flesh for the first time in months. They brought with them their grandson [age 10, our great grandson] who they are bringing up in their home as neither mama or daddy want him around most of the time. It was a good visit. Our son had begun fixing us a nice breakfast at his house which he brought to our apartment to complete and eat together with us. It was a very good special egg cassarole dish of his own recipe. Our son loves to cook.

On Sunday my wife and I ordered a nice steak dinner with the trimmings for Father's Day and our 48th anniversary [June 25th actually]. I drove to the restaurant and they brought all of the food to the car in carry out containers. I took them home where we enjoyed them thoroughly. We'd like to go into a restaurant and enjoy a meal there again, but with my wife's immune system so badly compromised we are leaving that alone for now.

LOL... who would have thought even a year ago that those two such unusual meals would be the highlight of our lives in retirement?

Thank God for what He has provided.

Praise God , what a lovely weekend. Good memories .

I thought that maybe this Covid thing was going away ...but my brother. (James) say it had come back again where he is...a school teacher and 6 students tested positive...so they are back to masks again.

But praise God the human spirit will always find a way to still have an enjoyable life , like your weekend. They haven’t got us down and out yet :)

I wish it were all going away here. Trump would have liked it to I suppose... especially with his recent visit to Tulsa [60 miles from us]. Rather the Covid cases have spiked in Oklahoma and Stillwater is one of the hot spots. Our daughter who works in the local hospital as a surgical nurse also started spending the night with us on her 'on call' days which are once a week. She lives 50 miles away so if she did not stay with us she would have to get a hotel room. The hospital was paying for a hotel room for her until recently, which is why the change. When she gets to our apartment she heads immediately for the shower [we have two] and still retains distance from us.

That distance thing was really a hard thing for our great grandson. At 10 years old he is still a very loving hugging boy... but he has learned to cope with it at a distance as well. At least we actually got to see them even if we were not allowed to touch.

I wear a mask when go out and come close to people. We minimize the need for it as much as possible by having Wal Mart deliver to our door.

Few more cases here in our area too. Way closer to home. Why our original plans for Friday changed, becaude Lorena's godmother came in contact with someone with covid. She had to wuarantine to be safe, but doesnt want to take a chance having Lorena over with new baby. But luckily I have a good back up.

Just getting ready for work, we have had a heat wave here this week, yesterday was the hottest day - and everyone hit the beaches - so much for social distancing. Personally I cannot think of a worst place to be with it being near 30degrees - it was too hot to sit outside, nice and cool inside.
Have a good day xx

@Rita Here this week it's been sometimes warm, sometimes even a bit cool. But I can see how, once ppl start to flock and congregate to beaches - especially Brighton's beaches - they would maybe just relax and forget to be on the alert for distancing; too busy sunning themselves and dozing, I guess, to be fixated on exact distancing. I think some of Brighton's beaches have the reputation of being topless; which again speaks of sun-seekers relaxing and not being self-conscious. I read that weeks back in places such as Spain people could hardly even move out of doors; but I don't think that in the UK there were such drastic restrictions imposed. Anyway, here it does get very hot for a few weeks, but we shall see how it all works out.

Agree , no fun outside when there is no shade.
Our problem this year with sitting out is the millions of mosquitoes...never had as bad a year as this for decades! They are so nasty , Dave gets eaten alive , they even bite the dog too, on her nose.

Hope your day is good xx

I wonder why God made mosquito's! Over the last 6-10 years in my area, we seem to be overrun by those lady bugs that are NOT really lady bugs and they will bite. Their more orange than red and the spots on them are more like small black slits. Not sure if they have come here from the South, or from Japan as, they look like the Japanese beetle, very much so. They can cover whole sides of huge trees and it is strange for around here.

@Nancy In Canada it's a case of either Manisnowba or Mosquitoba...

Oh I know the things that you mean, have seen one or two, but not many. I wonder if they kill of those sweet real lady bugs ?

Those small bees have killed off most of our big furry bumble bees...so sad. Just like in England the small grey squirrels killed off the big Red squirrels ...when I was a child there were lots of red squirrels in the woods...then they vanished and there was only the smaller grey ones.:(
