Just getting ready for work, we have had a heat wave here this week, yesterday was the hottest day - and everyone hit the beaches - so much for social distancing. Personally I cannot think of a worst place to be with it being near 30degrees - it was too hot to sit outside, nice and cool inside.
Have a good day xx

Saw the pictures yesterday, why would do so many people want to go to Bournemouth Beach? it's crazy. Even if a pandemic wasn't going on, it's still crazy.

Oh I know the things that you mean, have seen one or two, but not many. I wonder if they kill of those sweet real lady bugs ?

Those small bees have killed off most of our big furry bumble bees...so sad. Just like in England the small grey squirrels killed off the big Red squirrels ...when I was a child there were lots of red squirrels in the woods...then they vanished and there was only the smaller grey ones.:(

Helen, it seems that every year that goes by, some weird thing is happening with the animal/insect world! I am seeing so many different species of all kinds of things over a good 20 or so years now. It just gets couriousier and couriousier!

@Rita Here this week it's been sometimes warm, sometimes even a bit cool. But I can see how, once ppl start to flock and congregate to beaches - especially Brighton's beaches - they would maybe just relax and forget to be on the alert for distancing; too busy sunning themselves and dozing, I guess, to be fixated on exact distancing. I think some of Brighton's beaches have the reputation of being topless; which again speaks of sun-seekers relaxing and not being self-conscious. I read that weeks back in places such as Spain people could hardly even move out of doors; but I don't think that in the UK there were such drastic restrictions imposed. Anyway, here it does get very hot for a few weeks, but we shall see how it all works out.
Our restrictions were quite strict , but people were just choosing not to comply at times. This week saw many restrictions lifted- and we got the heat wave. I am only allowed to socialise with six people otherwise I have to take two weeks off work - and that’s official. Brighton beach is not generally known for topless- we have an official nudist beach, further along by our marina and it’s protected from view.

Agree , no fun outside when there is no shade.
Our problem this year with sitting out is the millions of mosquitoes...never had as bad a year as this for decades! They are so nasty , Dave gets eaten alive , they even bite the dog too, on her nose.

Hope your day is good xx
Kind of glad we don’t get them over here xx
So sorry that there are so many this year, do the repellents help ?

I guess, because Boris lifted many restrictions just before the heatwave hit , everyone decided to hit the beaches. Bournemouth is a really sandy beach, so it attracts lots of people anyway from surrounding areas. Brighton is a stones beach ( not good ) - we tend to get people from London as it’s only an hours train journey. I was saying to Farouk, I am on restricted contact ( 6people ) and we desperately want to get the care homes open and get people at risk out of isolation. It won’t happen if these selfish people keep doing stupid things with gathering together like that. Thankfully the weather has changed - but if we don’t get a second wave I will be amazed !
There have been illegal raves in London, football gatherings in Liverpool- that’s without all the marches that keep taking place. It’s going to get worse from next week as most of the cafes/pubs / shops open

So sorry @Rita...it sounds grim.
It’s not bad here...Canadians have been reasonably good at distance ...they young people the worst.

Where my daughter is in the States, they are back at mandatory masks. Before it was just “masks recommended” . The States are beginning to perk again...where a friend lives and where my daughter lives. :(

It seems to be a story with no ending

Same here in NY @Helen
Beaches have been open for awhile now and yes, it is most certainly the young ones who do not respect the 6ft distance or mask wearing. Most all places will not let you into their places without a mask.
The mask IMHO can do more harm than good if worn too long but, these kids are all over each other and what are they bringing back to their loved ones at home??
I love my niece dearly but, she still want's to hug and kiss me hello and
goodbye...I have no fear of this covid thing but I also do not at all want to put others in jeopardy. and yes, :(

Doesn't sound like it was the best time for one of the big 4, Liverpool to win the EPL this season.

I wonder if the outcome would have been any better, if a team like Brighton Hove & Albion shocked everyone and won the EPL this year.

Lol - now that’s just dreaming !! ( and it wouldn’t have been, I would think the whole of Brighton would have been out celebrating - you should have seen it here when we went up to the premier league ! )

I probably should jump on the bandwagon, they just might win next season, he he he, I jumped on the Swansea City bandwagon when they were doing well, and then they dropped out of the EPL. :(

Lol - Brighton were not doing well this year at all and if the lockdown didn’t happen I think they may have well ended up in the bottom three. We still could be relegated, although they have slightly better odds at the moment. They could never compete with the big clubs. We did make the FA cup one year, which was amazing but proberbly best to accept that the top four are pretty good teams x

OH @Helen ... I keep forgetting you are a fellow Canadian... YES we seem to be a bit more OBEDIENT to our Government mandates... Everything was going well until the George Floyd killing... and then all **** broke loose... Ontario has had some bizarre happenings also... with parks and beaches.... but I think that has mostly been a DISRESPECT by the younger party type crowds. It's such a strange time... Where I live... we have a huge ship... that does tours in the summer and it sits at the Government Dock... She is not there this year... she is staying at her winter home this year because it's not worth the cost of sailing her... SO bizarre not to see that familiar sight... Everything is different. Grocery stores now have ARROWS defining one-way aisles... Oh my goodness... I went down the wrong way and I got the LOOK from someone. LOL

@Josho , do you watch much of the English football , or just follow it in the news ?

Nah barely watch any, since difference in timezones. Used to follow it in the news and maybe watch some highlights, but not much these days.

Me too...I came out of the bank (masked) ...and walk a little way to the Pharmacy...an old man stopped dead , glared at me not moving...I then noticed the offence came because I was on the arrows going the opposite way! I didn’t know that we have to go up one side in the Mall and down the opposite side.

Farouk And Enoch11 are also Canadians , and a few others too...

I haven't been out except to the park across the road, and only three times, since 16th march. I've got used to it and it doesn't bother me any more. Ray went into town on his scooter last week and shouted at anybody who came closer that two metres. Now they've changed the social distancing to one metre he will not go out. I have re-discovered my crafting and embroidery and Kindle books and re-runs of Downton Abbey.

For some reason I am feeling very low and downhearted today.

All the non -news = Covid , BLM and the negative stuff seems to have sapped all the spiritual life out of all forums these days.

I wish there was a limit on how many non-spiritual discussions could be started! Hahah! Dream-on eh! It seems to have sucked the spiritual life out of me.
So today is a struggle.

Hope all is well with everyone else. xx

Hi Helen you're not on your own. I felt almost defeated this morning but prayer and trust got me sorted before too long.
