Read the context in 6:9

Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation.

A text without the context is a pretext for a prooftext. You are proof-texting once again and left out 6:9 for a good reason as it EXPOSES your erroneous false doctrine of losing salvation. Salvation is not even mentioned until 6:9 and refers to them as BELOVED- a name of those who are SAVED unlike those in 4-8.

He is contrasting the lost with the saved, the unbeliever with the believer. Its a perfect description of judas in 4-8 and the 11 disciples in 6:9

hope this helps !!!
Hebrews 6:9 applies equally to Hebrews 6:4. It is the beloved Paul is speaking to.

Yes, the Bible "speaks" of these things, but the Bible also says otherwise all throughout it. Such as . . .

Deuteronomy 30:6 NKJV - 6 "And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV - 27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

So, our job is to work through the entire Bible so that we can make sense of difficult passages. Our job is to become a Holy Detective, to understand His Entire Word, and not just one piece, or side of it.

Don't give up. Keep seeking the Truth. Here is your starting point to that Truth.
Those with a circumcised heart who have the spirit of God in them do not need to bolster up their moral by repeatedly saying they are eternally saved.

So you come up with such a long post to twist short and simple scripture passages?
You did not even bother to interpret the verse correctly, and now you are complaining because it was in fact correctly interpreted. Of course, that throws out your whole theory.

oh boy another day in the world of make belief , its like being in disneyland lol.

You would do well to read and heed Hebrews 3:7-8, Hebrews 3:15, and Hebrews 4:7.

Since the verse was correctly translated and interpreted, it would appear that you are the false teacher.

Nope. I am teaching the doctrine/truth that is according to godliness (1 Timothy 6:3, Titus 1:1)....you are not.

No, they do not need to "bolster their morale" but they do need to inform the naysayers that those who are saved are eternally saved. Otherwise salvation would be meaningless.

God is not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved. God doesn't force anyone.
That is true, and as you rightly say, we do have freewill, which means we can, if we want, take a different path. Some return to the fold and some do not. Paul is very concerned about this and tells us to run the race to the end.

You did not even bother to interpret the verse correctly

Preposterous.

What gives you the right to change scripture and then be the arbiter of what is “correct”?

The scripture needs no “interpretation”, it needs obedience. “Interpretation” is a cover for those who find difficult passages hard to accept at face value.

2 Corinthians 2:9 KJVS
[9] For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

and now you are complaining because it was in fact correctly interpreted. Of course, that throws out your whole theory.

I have no theory; I have pure unadulterated scripture. You are the one with a theory. Soothing your itching ears with a fable which you falsely call “correct interpretation”.

What a farce!

I don't understand what you're saying . . . and that's ok. I don't need to, at this point.

I'm sorry that this forum has become a place of fighting and bickering.

We all do things we shouldn't and I'm no saint, and I regret the things I have done, but some people seen to have no conscience about what they do, and these are the ones who preach OSAS. This is why I wonder if they have been seduced by the devil and are leading others astray who follow them. A true Christian would weep tears of repentance, but they seem unconcerned, saying we are alright, because we are always saved. Very dangerous ground in my opinion.
Christianity and wickedness do not belong to each other.

With all due respect—— you don’t know what you are talking about.

Hi BB53,

I am what you would call one of those "Nay-Sayers".:)

Your suggestion that us nay-saying Christians think that we can willfully sin, repent, willfully sin, repent, willfully sin, repent etc etc. and still go to heaven is not what Scripture says!!! And any Christian that practices that is in danger of going to hell.

Mary

No “ Christian” will EVER go to Hell. “there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus “

To “ Repent” means to “ change your mind” . If one goes from thinking “ I’m Good Enough to go to Heaven “ to “ Lord Jesus, have Mercy on me a Sinner”, That person has undergone all the Repentance he or she will ever need.....
If Repentance means Sorrow and Regret for Sinning , and it “ does” at times .....If “ that” type of repenting Saves a person......Judas will be honored in Heaven, and that ain’t happening...
Repenting does not automatically mean “ repent from sins”......Moses told God to Repent once....had God committed a sin, or was Moses pleading for God to “ change His mind?” ( God was about to kill ALL of the Hebrews in the Wilderness and start over with Moses..... Mercifully, GOD REPENTED —- thanks to Moses , God “ changed His mind”......
As far as “ willful sins” are concerned.....put on your Thinking Cap if you have one and try to “ see” that enormous amounts of your Sins are “ willful”.....David’s Sins could not have “ been” more Willful.....because of his Faith, his wickedness was Forgiven and covered by the Blood ....he also paid one Hell of a price for his sins here on earth.....he would never consider doing a repeat of his Adultery and Murder —- David’s life was ruined after his sins were discovered. You really think God was caught “ off-guard” when He promised ( because of Faith in Jesus ) to “ Forget” all of our sins? He promises to “ Save to the Uttermost all that come to Him through His Son?
God knew that some of His Foolish Children would sin on purpose.....we have the freedom to do so. GOD also has Freedom —- He knows how to give His Children an “ attitude adjustment” when they think that they can “ sin and get away with it”—— just ask David !
