Hebrews 6:9 applies equally to Hebrews 6:4. It is the beloved Paul is speaking to.Read the context in 6:9
Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation.
A text without the context is a pretext for a prooftext. You are proof-texting once again and left out 6:9 for a good reason as it EXPOSES your erroneous false doctrine of losing salvation. Salvation is not even mentioned until 6:9 and refers to them as BELOVED- a name of those who are SAVED unlike those in 4-8.
He is contrasting the lost with the saved, the unbeliever with the believer. Its a perfect description of judas in 4-8 and the 11 disciples in 6:9
hope this helps !!!
no beloved is not mentioned until 6:9 along with salvation. the two go hand in hand and fit together link a hand inside a gloveHebrews 6:9 applies equally to Hebrews 6:4. It is the beloved Paul is speaking to.
Since the verse was correctly translated and interpreted, it would appear that you are the false teacher. There is false teaching within what you have spoken.
Those with a circumcised heart who have the spirit of God in them do not need to bolster up their moral by repeatedly saying they are eternally saved.Yes, the Bible "speaks" of these things, but the Bible also says otherwise all throughout it. Such as . . .
Deuteronomy 30:6 NKJV - 6 "And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
Ezekiel 36:27 NKJV - 27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
So, our job is to work through the entire Bible so that we can make sense of difficult passages. Our job is to become a Holy Detective, to understand His Entire Word, and not just one piece, or side of it.
Don't give up. Keep seeking the Truth. Here is your starting point to that Truth.
You did not even bother to interpret the verse correctly, and now you are complaining because it was in fact correctly interpreted. Of course, that throws out your whole theory. So you come up with such a long post to twist short and simple scripture passages?

The beloved are his audience. Paul would not warn the sinner about losing their salvation, now would he.no beloved is not mentioned until 6:9 along with salvation. the two go hand in hand and fit together link a hand inside a glove
No, they do not need to "bolster their morale" but they do need to inform the naysayers that those who are saved are eternally saved. Otherwise salvation would be meaningless. Those with a circumcised heart who have the spirit of God in them do not need to bolster up their moral by repeatedly saying they are eternally saved.
Your world.oh boy another day in the world of make belief , its like being in disneyland lol.
Then why the many warnings about backsliding? No, they do not need to "bolster their morale" but they do need to inform the naysayers that those who are saved are eternally saved. Otherwise salvation would be meaningless.
6:9 contrasts those in 4-8.The beloved are his audience. Paul would not warn the sinner about losing their salvation, now would he.
God is not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved. God doesn't force anyone. They why the many warnings about backsliding?
That is true, and as you rightly say, we do have freewill, which means we can, if we want, take a different path. Some return to the fold and some do not. Paul is very concerned about this and tells us to run the race to the end.God is not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance and be saved. God doesn't force anyone.

We all do things we shouldn't and I'm no saint, and I regret the things I have done, but some people seen to have no conscience about what they do, and these are the ones who preach OSAS. This is why I wonder if they have been seduced by the devil and are leading others astray who follow them. A true Christian would weep tears of repentance, but they seem unconcerned, saying we are alright, because we are always saved. Very dangerous ground in my opinion.
Christianity and wickedness do not belong to each other.
.
If Christians turn from God, like the Israelites did, then we know what their end will be.but some people seen to have no conscience about what they do, and these are the ones who preach OSAS.
With all due respect—— you don’t know what you are talking about.
Hi BB53,
I am what you would call one of those "Nay-Sayers".:)
Your suggestion that us nay-saying Christians think that we can willfully sin, repent, willfully sin, repent, willfully sin, repent etc etc. and still go to heaven is not what Scripture says!!! And any Christian that practices that is in danger of going to hell.
