What are your thoughts about the Stars in the Sky, and the Planets that exist in the Created Universe?

Do you enjoy being able to see the stars in a place that you enjoy seeing them well on a clear night sky?

Have you ever used a telescope to look and see a planet that exist out there in what is considered Outer space?

I love seeing the stars and planets as well as the moon in all their brilliant glory but sadly with light pollution it isn't possible in many places. Earlier this year I was on a short break in Wales where we stayed in a cottage miles from anywhere and on a clear March night the night sky was absolutely amazing and I will remember it forever. Sadly from mt bedroom window on a clear night I can only actually see two bright twinkly stars which are probably planets. As I look at them I always say thank you to Him who placed them there and I know there are millions of others. Sometimes I get a very brief sight of one or two more as well. They are so beautiful.

I love the words of the hymn:

"Hands that flung stars into space
To cruel nails surrendered."

The vastness of space and the un numerable stars show the bounty of God in creation.
The few occassions I have been out on a clear night, with little background light. The stars have been awesm.

Thank you for a moment in taking time to share. You are right about people who may live in cities where light is prevalent during the night it causes the stars to be blocked from sight, especially if it is overcasting clouds. It is awesome that you do get a chance to be able to view the planets from time to time. There was a time or two I probably may have seen Mars, several years back it is very bright reddish/orange looking when it was shining as the sun began to finally settle in for the start of a new morning for another group of people. The place, here, where I live it is very clear not many street lights, it is just a small little town, at night on clear nights you can see the big dipper, little dipper, you can also see depending on the seasons of other star constallations too, like the archer, and .... the dragon one, probably can see pieces but I am not sure which stars they are though for sure.

Different glories for sure, all unique by creation, that creation being created of course by Him whom is worthy of praise and love.

Right on my friend.

So many stars uncountable, beautiful to see. When going to School, on of my favorite books was as science book and it showed planets and all different type of information about them, about their color, or storms going on the planet. Very interesting things created by God in my opinion.

Hi @MatthewG Reminds me of 1 Corinthians 15.41: "There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory."

@MatthewG Thanks for the 'like'; in the passage referred to, Paul links what he is saying about the glories of the universe with the principle of resurrection.

I am one of those who live in an area of light pollution.

Yesterday. a friend sent an internet site that is focused upon studying Astronomy and creation, from a scientific - Biblical perspective. The site is reasons.org operated by Astrophysicist, Dr. Hugh Ross. He loves to deal with perplexing audience questions. I have never heard such convincing intelligent well-reseached responses.

I listened to a number of his videos (Youtube) today, and I am really hooked!

All things are manifest of God to reflect His nature and ours. Space, therefore, is the wonder and immensity of God on display on the one hand, and outer darkness on the other. Likewise the stars and worlds, which display his majesty if we take it in, or if we go, a dreamscape from which we may never awaken.

But don't get me wrong--I love science fiction, Star Trek, Star Wars--all that!

@ScottA Reminds me of Romans 11.33-36: "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen."

Before they installed these very bright street lights I could see lots of stars from my back garden. Always the plough and Orion and others which I coudn't identify.

One Christmas eve coming back from town on the bus we could see a perfect new crescent moon with a bright star next to it in a beautiful dark blue velvet sky. A memory we still cherish.

@Pearl Over here, thinly populated areas participate in a dark sky circuit, as a tourist attraction for astronomy enthusiasts.........

Yes it is. An encouraging thread of considering God's mighty works instead of one arguing or speculating.
@Pearl Reminds me of Psalm 8.3-5:"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour."

I hope all the members here can come to Israel to visit or to live.
You're going to anyway once the Lord brings you here.....so, its your home, if you are born again, for 1000 yrs.
That a bit longer then you've been living in your current COUNTRY....

Coming here will make your faith explode.
You will be on a beach or in Nazareth,, and you'll think...>"I wonder if Jesus was right here....walking".
You'll go to the Old City and just stare......trying to believe you are actually there...
You'll stand in the upper room, just ..... amazed.... tears in your eyes.....happy tears. Tears that are praising God for Jesus.

And the STARS....

WOW !!!

They are like bright white Christmas Lights hanging all over Israel.
