The mark of the BEAST is being given today. It is to be in the image(attributes) of the devil still being led of our fallen flesh and not Christ's.
Cain who is the offspring of the devil having been given a mark shows us what image this is when he killed his own brother Abel out of jealousy. He thought instead of raising his standards, he would just kill off the competition to be on top. But it did not sit well with God. In other words Cain was the dog eat dog type remember Jesus talked about dogs.
As we can see in these verses, God says the seed of the serpent who was the most subtle of all THE BEAST would be destroyed by the SEED of the Woman/Israel being the SEED/Word of God whom is THE CHRIST.
Gen 3:1
3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
KJV
Rev 12:9-10
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
KJV
Gen 3:14-15
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; IT shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
KJV
1 John 3:9-12
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
KJV
First, I must show this:
2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Scripture cannot be privately interpreted. We know this. The same applies for prophecy. When we search the Scriptures on prophecy, the Bible will explain itself, and identify its symbols. In Revelation, over half the verses can be found almost word for word in other sections of the Bible. As Isaiah says:
Isaiah 28:9-10 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk,
and drawn from the breasts. For precept
must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little,
and there a little:
When showing what Scripture means, we must show other verses to explain why we came to such conclusions in regards to prophecy. We will find some answers in Isaiah, some in Peter's writings, some in Daniel, some in Paul's writings, etc. Therefore, let me begin:
The mark of the beast has not been given yet. None can accept it until it is enforced upon all mankind.
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
In regards to the mark being according to the attributes of the devil, you are correct, but you are missing something(s). The mark of the beast is also called the mark of his name. The beast in this passage is a kingdom, so let us establish that.
Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Please understand, I know that a serpent is a beast. I know that animals are beasts. But in the prophetic nature, animals are used to represent kingdoms. Beasts are kingdoms. Therefore, the mark of the beast, is the mark of a certain kingdom. Now, as the mark of his name:
Revelation 14:11 and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Therefore, the mark of the beast is called the mark of his name. This is not name in the most literal sense, as some would believe, but in the sense of speaking about a specific character.
Exodus 34:6-7 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear
the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth
generation.
Notice how the character of the Lord is proclaimed here when He said He would proclaim His name.
John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Exodus 23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
So, the mark of the beast has to do with the beasts character as well. One thing to note about this beast's character, is he believes he can change God's law. This was written in Daniel:
Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
The beast THINKS they can change God's law.
So then, what is a the mark? First, let's ask, what is a mark? Is it a physical mark on the body, or underneath the skin, a physical mark upon their hands and foreheads? Consider these verses:
Proverbs 1:8-9 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: for they
shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
Proverbs 3:1-3 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
Proverbs 7:1-3 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
Notice this: laws and commandments are bound upon the head, neck, heart, and fingers. What does this mean? Does this mean to literally do so? Not so, for this next verse helps explain these things to us:
Proverbs 6:20-23 My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: bind them continually upon thine heart,
and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and
when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment
is a lamp; and the law
is light; and reproofs of instruction
are the way of life:
This simply means that the commandments are a lamp, and the law is light, and that reproofs of instruction are the way of life. To bind something upon your fingers, heart, neck, and head means to let it lead you in life, let it be your light, let it guide you. What does this have to do with the mark of the beast upon your hands and forehead? It means the same thing, as you shall see.
Exodus 13:7-9 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters. And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the Lord brought thee out of Egypt.
Notice, that it was a sign upon their hands and a memorial between their eyes that the LORD'S law would be in their mouth. Here we see the Lord's commandments and law associated with something being bound upon the hands and forehead.
Exodus 13:15-16 and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the Lord slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem. And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt.
Notice how the word also changes, a sign, a memorial, and a token have been used.
Deuteronomy 6:6-8 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Were any of the 8 passages telling them to bind things literally upon their body parts? Were they to put a physical token, sign, or memorial upon their hands in forehead? No, they were not to. Likewise, the mark of the beast uses the same language, about putting something upon body parts. Does this mean to put a physical mark upon it? No, it simply means the way one walked (spiritually) would show who their God was.
Therefore, the mark of the beast is the commandment or law of a kingdom which one chooses to obey over that which God has explicitly written. Understand thus far? And as I pointed out for Daniel 7:25, yes, the beast's name (character) is thinking he can change God's laws. Therefore, the kingdom will make a direct change against a specific commandment of God.
The commandment called in question is represented in the first and the third angels message found in Revelation 14.
Revelation 14:6-7 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Remember what was read earlier, about prophecy copying almost word for word things found in other areas of the Bible? Notice this:
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
That is found in verse six, correct? What is found in verse 7? Worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Where then is such a message lifted from?
Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day
is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:
in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that
is within thy gates: for
in six days
the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The angels message does indeed lift from the fourth commandment. Why does it do such a thing? The Creator's own hand can answer that for us. When writing His holy law for mankind, the first word He wrote for the fourth commandment is REMEMBER. God's own finger rebukes those who tell us to forget about it, His own voice speaking His law echoes down through time into the mind and heart of the believer: "REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." It is this commandment that distinguishes us from the world of unbelievers. It is the sign that God sanctifies us. It is the bold proclamation to the world "My God is the Creator of the Heaven, the Earth, The Sea, and all that in them is. I rest, because He rested. For in six days He made the earth, the heavens, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day." How does this message link up with the third angels message?
Revelation 14:9-11 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Remember from earlier, the sign upon the hands and the forehead is not a literal physical mark. And remember, the character of the beast is that he thinks he can change God's law. The angel explains those who receive the mark of the beast. Then directly after, the angel explains those that do NOT receive the mark of the beast. Who are they that do not receive such things?
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Incredible, is it not? Those that do not receive the mark of the beast have the faith of Jesus AND keep the commandments of God (which is another rebuke to those that teach that you cannot keep the commandments, or that you shouldn't, or that if you keep them you are going to hell). The 1st angels message points us to the 4th Commandment, and the 3rd Angels message teaches us that those who don't receive the mark of the beast will have the faith of Jesus AND keep the commandments of God. And as found earlier, the mark of the beast is not a physical mark upon the hand and skin, but refers to the spiritual walk, about the commandments you obey. Notice also, where the seal of God is placed:
Revelation 7:2-3 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
The seal goes in the forehead. Shall it be literally physically inside their foreheads? No, but it shall be a seal, a sign that they are obedient to God. Can a sign be a seal of righteousness? Is the Sabbath commandment ever a seal of God? Do the Scriptures ever speak of serving the law with your mind?
Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Ezekiel 20:12, 20 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. ... and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I
am the Lord your God.
Exodus 31:13-17 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it
is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth
any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh
is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth
any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations,
for a perpetual covenant. It
is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for
in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
So, what is the mark of the beast? Keeping Sunday as the Sabbath, instead of keeping God's Sabbath, His PLAINLY WRITTEN command to keep Holy the 7th Day of the week, which is Friday Sundown to Saturday Sundown.
