Australia into round of 16, pretty surprised waking up this morning to the news of their win against Denmark, fantastic goal too, tbh Australia's defence has done pretty well against Denmark and Tunisia, and is probably one of the main reasons, why we are still in it.

Next up Argentina, that's gonna be a tough one, but Saudi has done it, Australia can do it too, Argentina has a really fast attacking play though.

The company had a watch party down in the cafeteria for the US-Iran match, with free pizza and soft drinks. I missed seeing the only goal in the match, darn it.

I still haven't figured out why that silly off-sides rule exists. Something similar to the hockey off-sides rule where the ball has to precede the player across a fixed line rather than judge by the position of the defense would make more sense and not reward bad defense.

Well the England match against Wales was much better and worth watching.
I hate the knock out stages !!!!!!
We have Senegal , not sure it will be an easy match x
Hope it goes okay for Australia , unless of course they eventually play us xx
The USA are playing well x

England eventually played really well last night , didn’t start off too well.

Brilliant match to watch. I was pleased Argentina won though . One of their players lives in the same town as me and plays for the local premier league team xx

They were good goals, have you seen the replay?
Yes 3-1, USA will get a consolation goal scored by Brendon Aaronson...the Leeds player Chkl:

Erling Brut Haaland (goal machine) who plays for Man city was born in Leeds. His Dad played for Leeds and Man city

The obsession with balls is beyond me.
Big balls, little balls, soft balls, hard balls, round balls, oval balls......it's gotta be a distraction.

No.
Used to play sports.

We have some friends who are on vacation in Cancun Mexico that said the sports bar at their resort was full of soccer fans for the England vs. Argentina and the France vs. Spain games. He said he was amazed at how loud and excited those fans were! The energy in the room was electric!

I saw Mick Jagger on TV at the England vs. Argentina world cup game. He was not happy about the outcome.

The anticipation is the excitement…
The fact is…there will be the defeated and a winner… jubilance and disappointment in every match.
(And if wagering is Playing a part…it can go beyond disappointment!)
